With the way Demps and Rainey are splitting carries and racking up yards in limited action, do you think the Gators have a chance to see two 1,000 yard backs this year? I'm not sure that's ever happened in UF history.
It could happen. Last year, each of the top three rushers had about 650 yards. Tebow would need to halve his rushing output and distribute that to the next two rushers in order for the other two to make 1,000, and with only two games he is down 25%. It is feasible for the Gators to have two 1,000 yard rushers, but only if the overall running output increases. My quick search could not turn up dual-1,000 yard runners.
I think we could have a chance if we had more of a pass QB that did not run himself but with Tebow running I do not see it happening this season. Maybe next year when Brantley takes over. From what I think...demps will be the first one to make it to 1000 out of the backs.
