On Meyer and potential burnout:

"I think what will happen to Urban is he won't go somewhere else, he'll just burn out and quit. He'll reach the point he can't do it any longer at the level he demands of himself. Hopefully it's not for 10 years. I don't speak for him, but we like him, and we think he likes it here."
On what Tim Tebow means to the university:

"I think he's going to become, if he just has a good year next year — he doesn't have to win the Heisman or we don't have to win the trophy — I think he's going to be the person identified as the best to ever play college football. I think he's on track to do that.

"Having him means we don't have to ever apologize for having a football program having someone like that who's a leader, good student and role model."

Good point Dr. Machen makes here that many don't realize:

"It's a market-based economy. If the market crashed — see what [ President Barack] Obama did, they just put a cap on bank-existing income. The market could change for coaches. As long as it plays out the way it does and we're going to keep the very best, we're going to pay the very best. Most people understand that, especially when they begin to understand how athletics are starting to give back to the university."
