Just to clarify. Did UM travel a lot in the past few months to get this awesome recruiting class? Or, did his assistants do a great job recruiting while UM "relaxed" close to home. The reason I ask is that I think that if the latter were true, that he may have stumbled onto an intermediate step for long-term health--trust your assistants to do much of the leg work, and stay close to home when possible and let the assistants bring the talent to you. It works for a lot of other coaches. I doubt Joe Pa flies out to California and Texas personally for recruiting unless there is a dire need, and he is 183 years old! He's a good example of longevity and maybe the right way to handle recruiting and other tasks that are burdensome to the coach's health.
