O-town Gator
Gator Fan
Bits and pieces I'm gathering from Twitter; I'll look for a link later:
- "I'm going to go through The Plan to Win really quickly because it didn't work."
- “Film looked same way it looked in person.”
- CB Moses Jenkins is out six weeks with hyper-extended elbow; WR Frankie Hammond will play Saturday.
- “Nothing like coaching a team that’s urgent”
- Perimeter blocking was inadequate against Miami (Ohio). Calls O-line disheveled.
- Champions for the Gators are Brown, Black, Howard, Trattou, Bostic, Jones and Janoris Jenkins. Offense was just Gilbert.
- FS Will Hill and OG Carl Johnson should be back this week … both suspended last week.
- WRs Deonte Thompson & Carl Moore played every offensive snap and said it should never happen.
- Pouncey wasn't locking his wrist on the snaps. Also said the sweat on the ball caused issues.
- LT Xavier Nixon had a partial practice yesterday, but Meyer reiterated he hopes Nixon can play vs. USF. Matt Patchan is still out. Terron Sanders will be back.
- Meyer says he had no problem with UF's play calling last week (I can just imagine the uproar over this statement coming up)
- "If it was a beauty pageant, we wouldn't have won that game."
- John Brantley's focus must improve when taking snaps; Brantley was partly to blame for snap problems.
- Meyer on USF - "This is an SEC-caliber team."
- Meyer said he thinks they'll have TE Jordan Reed back but will know more tomorrow.
- Meyer on edge blocking: "We have to be able to do that or we're dead in the water."
- John Brantley says he and C Mike Pouncey took "numerous" snaps Sunday morning in hopes of fixing problems.
- Brantley on touchdown bomb that was bobbled and caught by Rainey - "We drew it up like that."
