GAINESVILLE - "It was inside the Florida Gators' locker room, minutes before the start of Saturday's Orange & Blue game.
And Trey Burton got this feeling. The former Venice High star was about to begin his own personal, most excellent adventure.
"I was like, 'I'm really doing this right now,'" he said. "It was really a shock. It's an amazing feeling. You can't really describe it."
Burton joined his Gator teammates in the tunnel of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the one leading out to Florida Field and a place he one day hopes to command, as he did so many high-school gridirons, on so many Friday nights.
Burton won't start at quarterback for the Gators this fall. That honor will go to junior John Brantley, though the team has given every indication it will use Burton as it did a previous Florida freshman.
Big guy. Good wheels. Determined.
Named Tebow.
"I'm not Tim Tebow," Burton said. "I'm Trey."
That may be good enough."
