Anyway, he's reportedly told another commitment from the previous coaching regime that the player doesn't really fit into Tennessee's plans and would be best served to look elsewhere. Damien Thigpen of Manassas, Va., had been committed to the Vols since April, but found out last weekend on his visit that the Vols don't necessarily want him now.
Kiffin did this with two other players, including heralded quarterback prospect Tajh Boyd. The dicey part is that Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton is on record as saying Tennessee would honor all commitments from the previous staff.

Hey, if he doesn't want recruits and they're UF material, let them come to Gainesville. If Thigpen has legitimate speed, he's the type of player Meyer is looking for in the spread-option.

At the rate Kiffin's going, don't be surprised to see the NCAA breathing down his neck in another year or two. Not only has he alienated recruits, he's already had to report two minor recruiting violations - he sure isn't starting off on the right foot.
