Look for the Buddy Martin Show where Buddy and Brenden Martin interview Urban Meyer talk about Florida-Utah and the Gator program. Urban agrees that the mistakes made it hard to beat a well coached and disciplined team like Utah, and he would know obviously because he coached at Utah and still has connections there. He even admitted that with all the turnover at Florida he has more connections to Utah and other schools, but he is still a Gator fan and he believes in Billy Napier. All of your post-rewatch analyses are spot on and instructive: A lot of errors, some of them especially disappointing, but ALL of them explainable and CORRECTABLE.
I'm actually more concerned with the injuries--all the so-called "minor banged-up", "upper-" and "lower-body" injuries rendering so many of our players at already depth-limited positions, PLUS our starting CENTER still out.
OK, it's for McNeese State--but how ARE they coming along, truly? The guys up front we are going to NEED facing Tennessee, at least to have any chance of not embarrassing ourselves, let alone having any kind of chance at victory.
I just want and NEED to see us BEGIN to show discipline and character as a TEAM.
An important thing to bring up is that some of the unforced errors committed by the Gators cannot be "coached out" of a player. The players need to step up and fix some things. Dakota Mitchell cannot fall down on the very first play of the game. RJ Moten cannot hit hit teammate Jason Marshall as they are both in pursuit of the receiver. Dante Zanders cannot lose his footing in his only carry--through an 8-man front! Graham Mertz cannot lose his footing when dropping back on a 7-step drop.
Some errors can be fixed with watching game play, and Napier will make those fixes as long as the players watch the film and make the adjustments.
