Speaking of "not beating themselves", I am watching Kentucky on the road at Vandy as sort of a scouting exercise on BOTH squads--and so far it has really BEEN a matter of the Commodores "beating themselves" up til now.
I mean, UK clearly looks the better team: Certainly Vanderbilt can't afford to hand ANYONE points the way they have with broken plays on both offense AND defense, falling behind the Wildcats 14-0 here at home.
Oops...'nother breakdown deep on defense giving UK 1st and goal inside the 5.
WE will have to be playing mainly mistake-free football to beat these guys at their place..."these guys" being the Wildcats--As for the Commodores, maybe they are still numb after the way the last game went for them, but after this at least the perception will be that we should BEAT them...but they're making Kentucky look like the "Number 2 Team in the East" here.
21-0...I have seen enough. I guess I didn't just want to "scout both teams; I suppose I sort of wanted to see Vandy bounce back, acquit themselves well in a big SEC home game.
The thing is, WE need to BEAT UK next week--begin to "restore order" in the East, from OUR point-of-view.

(Yikes! This is gonna be a LOOOONNNNG day!
Try switching over to OU at Cincinnati? Take a nap? Just in time to witness multiple missed tackles by Bearcats to let Sooners out of hole deep in their own end...MORE missed tackles by Cincy. The "NAP" sounds good about now...See y'all later.)

I know the FSU/Clemson game is on--but anything but an FSU beat-down isn't gonna be all that entertaining to me. Started OUT interesting, but now Noles coming back.
Guess I'm left with that nap, by default.

FSU looks beatable if Florida can put together a game like Tennessee. FSU seems to have issues with the run game, but the passing game can quickly turn things around for them. They take care of the ball, unlike their ACC opponents.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt both looked like garbage. I hope Florida does not look like crap playing either of these teams since they both have been beating Florida way too much lately.

@Escambia94,
"Yes, DEFINITELY." to BOTH of the two preceeding comments, E--.
These "mid-pack and below" SEC teams are completely "beatable"--But WE haven't looked consistently strong ourselves.
And if FSU really IS "near the TOP" of this season's "Current top programs in college football", then WE are not that far off: Only that very same "lack of consistency", and these handful of ways in which we are limiting OURSELVES, continue to hold us down, keep US from making a real "move to the top" sooner rather than later TOO!
However, as things stand, we are just as capable of falling to the same teams ahead on our schedule. It's a mindset: All in the way we approach, prepare and execute, day-by-day in the days and weeks ahead.
I THINK we could be VERY GOOD--RIGHT NOW.
We've SHOWN ourselves (and everyone ELSE) that, BUT: We still have long, fun road ahead, and need to stay HUNGRY.
To be sure, we have a great deal more to add in terms of talent, experience, and general "growing together as a TEAM AND PROGRAM"!
THAT is exactly WHY it won't DO to "get ahead of ourselves"...We still NEED to go THROUGHb it all, to actually DO all that "Learn and Grow"...Coaches. Players. All of US, out here in Gator Nation.
Whatever the "true nature of reality", it is best to just allow it to unfold:
Let IT come to US. I know: I need to start with MYSELF. Believe me--I'm TRYING.
