It being technically Sunday (actually almost 3 hours into it where I am), I thought I'd throw out there something I've heard about our "Greatest Gator"s quiet but determined thoughts as his non-role with the Jets continues to ("Not"-) develop...The word is that though he'll keep it low key 'til the end of the season (being the good teammate he is always determined to be), if he gets no better chance at a full contributing role to this Jets team, if they go with a mediocre Sanchez without #15 getting a real shot at running the offense, he will go to management and ask for a full and immediate release upon this season's end--something that with his full automatic-"release-with-no-compensation" after the 2014 season, along with other penalties if they don't give it to him before then, if he asks for it, would make having gotten him in there the way they did a waste and THEN some for them and an easy pick-up for the team of Tebow's choice if the Jets DIDN'T get him traded--and to a team he approves of.
What does it all MEAN? Well, either he gets the chance in New York "everyone" (well, all except the haters) hoped he would at some point, or he likely gets a shot at PICKING his next venue--and maybe finally go somewhere they want him and HE wants THEM--and hopefully a shot at satisfaction AND excellence.

Tebow should have got more snaps last week. He came in and got 50 yards in three plays...

At the end of the day, Tebow will not bet a jet next year.... He needs to go somewhere where he will get a legit year to develop his throwing ability.

As we've been discussing, he needs a place where he can be allowed to learn, grow and be a part of a whole new imaginative approach to offense, one that takes ADVANTAGE of his unique skill-set--even as he further "develops his throwing ability" (--which, it should be again noted, is more about "tightening up" so he can get it out of there faster than it is about becoming "prettier", or more like that of a "classic drop-back form" for its own sake).

Another Week (Sunday, Sept. 30), another series of "Tebow Treatment Travesties"...
Bad enough to find ourselves still wondering, with more reason than ever for bewilderment, at the non-use of TT in the ever-deepening hole that Sanchez and the Jets are digging for themselves on offense (on BOTH sides of the ball, actually), without having to hear more sarcastic derision regarding #15 from the usual media-types in the face of their Head Coach's stubborn and blind incompetence.
I'm referring to the fact that while Ryan continues to ride his drowning horse as the head disappears (quickly now) under the waves (Tebow gets just 1 series, near the end of the game, gets just one chance to throw even then, when he audibles to a roll-out completion and a 9-yd. gain in a 34-0 SHUT OUT), he and his coaches continue to virtually ignore this unique talent the team spent significant money and picks to bring in. Devoid now of virtually every first-line playmaker on offense they thought they had coming into the season, Ryan won't play, let alone adapt to and turn loose, perhaps the one QB in the league who might be able to rally the guys left around him and get some things done with his unorthodox skills, attitude and approach to the game. They're just about at the "what have ya got to lose?"-point already now anyway...It begins to look that by the time Tim gets any real playing time, doing things anything close to the way he is uniquely qualified and comfortable doing them, he will in effect be auditioning for his NEXT coach and team--but meanwhile, people like that idiot-analyst from ESPN's NFL-panel (I refuse to name jerks like him, any such recognition only fueling both his ego and the little claim-to-recognition and controversy he craves and trades on), the former-journeyman-mediocrity who bounced around the League as a 2nd and 3rd string QB with countless teams for a number of years and now thinks that qualifies to judge those with real talent, this loud-mouthed fool, who has ALWAYS resented and disparaged TT, actually had the nerve to take ANOTHER swipe at Tebow, this time out of left field as he was commenting on San Francisco's rookie-back-up, sneering about "the Niners showing how a Wildcat offense is really run" when they went to it near the goal line late in the game, "Saying to the Jets and everyone, 'You want a REAL running quarterback? THIS is what a REAL Running Quarterback looks like!" To this F*ck, the whole thing was just a renewed opportunity for him to take open, unprovoked and in this context all-but-irrelevant shots at a guy mainly stuck on the bench on the other side of the field, watching, keeping his composure and his mouth shut as even this desperate opportunity for him to at least TRY to bring his skills, work his magic on the field rallying the guys around him (themselves mostly composed of 2nd and 3rd stringers), making it up as he goes along and somehow getting it done as only he has so often been able to do, goes by the boards.
Real easy target, asshole--as long as he stays right there, on the sidelines, with no chance at putting it all out there, risking everything to somehow create something special, make more of himself and those around him than the sum of their parts, guys like you are safe, free to sneer and feel superior. The danger comes if and when Tebow DOES get out there, DOES get another chance to "make it happen"...THEN you are unmasked as the loser you are, the bitter fool who never really did much with your OWN talent because you never risked ANYTHING--unmasked not just to yourself to stare at your own empty soul, but unmasked for everyone ELSE to see as well. No WONDER you hate him.
(PS The above sentiment is also aimed in the direction of Yahoo Sports, where I'll go back on my "don't mention them by name" rule and make sure columnist Jason Cole is included among the condemned--this pathetic little plagerizer couldn't even come up with his own shallow drivel--he pretty well lifted the guy-from-ESPN's attack-on-Tebow-via-the-SF-back-up-in-the-wildcat sneering put-down word-for-word in HIS post-game piece..."You were sh*t when you wrote for the Herald and The Sun-Sentinel, Jason, and you're CLEARLY, more-than-ever, still sh*t NOW!")

I know they questioned Tebow accuracy however Sanchez can't hit water if fell off on a boat.
Put a guy in cold for his only complete series of the game, late in a blow out, and call NO passing plays, his only one coming when he calls an audible--and he completes it for 9 yards--how does that warrant ANY criticism of his accuracy? As for the widespread tales of Tebow's supposed lack of ANY accuracy, the criticisms came from a kind of early bandwagon crescendo of anti-TT, pro-Sanchez sentiment among certain entrenched reporters-with-bylines who cited opening practices, when he had had no time to practice or run plays with the starting receivers, and had at that point hardly studied what was for him a new and complex playbook that was completely ill-suited to his style and skills. Since that time he has, by all accounts mastered the playbook (despite its gaping lack of consideration for his unique talent, power and mobility) and developed some chemistry with the mostly 3rd-string receivers he HAS had some time with by now. By all back-channel, less-biased accounts, he has shown more and more sharpness and success with these "lesser talents" (who, with all the Jets' injuries, are among those now moving up the depth chart), in fact when improvising against the Jet defense has been regularly pulling off some amazingly accurate long throws-on-the-run on exciting improvised plays...It has been reports from practice by a handful of prowling reporters that have contributed to the groundswell of calls to have #15 finally assume the starting role.
They have lost SO many players to injury at this point, ESPECIALLY on offense, that turning Tebow loose may be their only chance at scoring ANY points the rest of the way--and meanwhile Ryan continues to foolishly insist on "staying the course" that is taking them right over the cliff. It's obviously a matter of stubborn pride, at this point; it is amazing to watch a professional Head Coach completely self-destruct, taking the whole organization that depends on his plans and choices down the drain with him, eyes-wide-open.

Remember this from a couple years ago?: "The spread-option, zone read (SO-ZR) plays that Tim Tebow ran will not work for him in the NFL. He has to learn how to play like a pro-style quarterback in order to succeed in this league." Meanwhile, Cam Newton, Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick, and others are all running spread-option, zone read plays.

Remember this one from a couple years ago? "Tim Tebow cannot make the kind of throws that he needs to make in the NFL. He has no accuracy." This may be true in some cases, but it depends on what kind of offense he is in. Mark Sanchez missed on some of the simple routes that Tebow used to hit in college and with the Broncos. Peyton Manning hit some of his receivers on the same routes this year, only to have his receivers drop the ball.

Everyone has bought into the generalizations without letting Tebow prove himself in the right situation. If Tebow were thrown into Cam Newton's or Alex Smith's offense, he would be completing 60% of his passes for 200 yards and maybe even running for another 100 yards. Don't tell me he would never do it--Cam Newton runs these plays for 75% of the game. The 49ers rotate Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick in order to create one Tim Tebow, at least for half of their plays. What is still up for the jury to decide is how well Tebow would execute the pro-style plays that are in 25% of Cam Newton's or 50% of Alex Smith's and Colin Kaepernick's playbook. My guess is that if you let Timmy run 50% of SO-ZR and 50% of "pro-style", he would lead his team to a few more victories. Right now, the media is selling the idea that Tebow is already running plays he ran in college and should be performing better. In reality, the plays he is in on are not SO-ZR plays--they are wildcat or trick plays.

EXACTLY--especially echo that last part: I HATE these observations and claims made based on the few instances when he IS thrown out there, handcuffed by the silly obviousness that the coaches on BOTH sides know he's in only to run some unimaginative trick-play version of a STYLE-of-play that can ONLY work when you turn him loose ALL GAME with those formations, options and resulting possibilities (not to mention the kinds of players around him that have the skills and are expecting and prepared to run such plays) available to him as part of the whole game plan...I am just amazed at the dim-witted logic among coaches AND analysts who appear to expect anything BUT "limited results" in that situation, no matter WHO is in there.

Sanchez might be on the chopping block soon lol, he went from average to horrible. I wonder if all of the "analyst" that kept siding on Marks side are choking on their words now. It's one thing to be given a chance and fail, it's a whole 'nother to no be given a chance at all. I agree that Tebow needs to be in a "learning" role, just seems like NY wanted the PR that came with him, not his playing. Sad situation over there.

The NY Jets coaches are not too bright. They will stick with Dirty Sanchez until he goes for 1 completion in 50 attempts and -20 yards before they let Timmy start.
