2010 Sugar Bowl Preview

The No. 5 Florida Gators and No. 3 Cincinnati Bearcats are about to square off in New Orleans at the 2010 Sugar Bowl on January 1. This is one of the better BCS Bowl Games in my opinion. We have one undefeated team against another 1 loss team - combined the two teams are like 25-1. Not to mention all the story lines we have going on. Let's take a look at some of the major stories in this game.

We'll start with Cincinnati:

-Cincinnati is undefeated and might feel slighted they aren't getting a shot at the National Championship game. Unfortunately for them, two other teams from major conference are also unbeaten..
-Cincinnati's head coach Brian Kelly will not be coaching the Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl. Why? Because he accepted the head coaching job at Notre Dame and has already left the team.
-Tony Pike is one of the top rated quarterbacks in the country and could be a Top 10 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Now on to Florida:

-This is Tim Tebow's final game as a Florida Gator. Tim will go down as the best Gator of all time and arguably the greatest college football player in history. All eyes will be on Tim to see how he goes out. My guess is he'll go out in style... 5 touchdowns and a stiff arm.
-Urban Meyer announced to the world he is taking a leave of absence following the Sugar Bowl. His announcement to leave makes this game so much more interesting. Fans want to know what is going on with Urban.
-There are a ton of seniors and juniors on this Gator team that will be headed to the NFL Draft in 2010.
-This Gator senior class is the winningest SEC class in history.

As you can see there is a lot going on in this game. I am definitely interested in seeing how Urban Meyer reacts on the sidelines. How calm will he be if the Gators are struggling? I also want to see Tim Tebow. He is a remarkable player and it will be sad to see him go.

Cincinnati is a very good team. They aren't undefeated for nothing. They score a lot of points and have a very poised quarterback - as demonstrated in their 4th quarter comeback win in the Conference Championship game. The Gator defense will be tested.

I am predicting a fun, exciting game. I think the Gators will win by a final score of 38-28. What do you think?
