2019 SDSU transfer OT Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson has committed to Florida off his visit! This is the first transfer Florida has taken this cycle at a massive position of need. The 6’6” 310 lb offensive lineman has started three years for SDSU and looks to do the same at Florida.

Crenshaw-Dickson has had 2,140 total snaps in his career and has allowed only 6 sacks and only 5 QB contacts with 33 QB hurriesLast year he had 664 blocking snaps and gave up 3 sacks and only 5 QB hurries

Crenshaw-Dickson is originally from Narbonne, Harbor City, CA. He was a 3-star recruit in 2019 with a rating of 0.8248.

2019 Penn DL Joey Slackman has committed to the University of Florida! The 6’4 300 DT was FCS Mid Season All American, All-Ivy League, and 2023 Penn Team Captain. In 28 games he has 115 tackles, 25 TFLs, 11 sacks, 3 PD’s, 2 FF’s, 8 QB hits, and 1 blocked kick.

So we ARE picking up some true "Needs", today on BOTH sides of the line-of-scrimmage...These are highly rated, much-experienced young men with a coupla years each of eligibility left: They look to compete as starters, and shoukd at LEAST add solid depth on the respective lines.
This is good news...but we'll need a lot more of the same next coupla weeks or so.
Still at best a "wait'n'see" game.

Evan Stewart just entered his name into the transfer portal...A 5-star speedster at WR who Florida was in the final running for and with in 2022, he is the highest rated WR in the portal now...
Any chance we might take another run at him? "Speed" is what has generally been added at WR here these last couple/few weeks: He would cap that trend off nicely.
Just throwing it out there--I have no idea where we stand or if we even WANT him (I understand there were grade-questions that may have messed with the recruiting process last time, after all).
I admit I am open to any practical possibility at this point: We have 4 spots open, and after the way things kind of fell apart at the very end of a promising recruiting run, this would be a very good time to fill those with high value transfers.

Overall, are you getting the impression that we are in the process of gaining a "net UPGRADE" in the talent level for 2024?
I mean, lotta guys going and COMING, obviously. At first I thought it was a classic case of "rats deserting the sinking ship", but lately I am less certain...Truth is, given everything we saw as 2023 played out, "a dramatic turnover to an improved talent-level" was exactly what was required. I just cannot as yet determine if that is indeed what we are witnessing.

We are highly active in the portal this time--SUCCESSFULLY so it would seem.
It remains to be seen how this will affect the program, team and its actual success on the field.
(I admit to MORE THAN EVER being anxious to see if a new OC will be named--and who it will turn out to be if/when it is.)
