Raymondo Antoine McDonald came to Gainesville from the Gator recruiting hotbed of Pahokee/ Bell Glades, where he played defensive end and defensive tackle for Coach Ron Zook and Coach Urban Meyer's Florida Gators from 2002 to 2006. After redshirting his freshman year, Ray worked his way up to defensive team captain of the 2006 BCS National Championship team. After only making 8 tackles/ 6 solo in his junior year, he made 36 tackles/ 20 solo his senior year on the way to an All SEC team berth. The San Francisco 49ers drafted him in the third round, where Ray still plays.
