("River City Show Down" (or whatever) my @$$!!!)

OK--know how we feel about all THAT...
But the rest of it, this game and the rest of this season, well, don't know bout y'all, but personally I don't know WHAT to think--certainly not what to expect.
We can beat this Georgia team: Our D is primed to shut down their offense at its current "best", has the talent, scheme and experience to do so--and they aren't even AT that theoretical level: Right up top, Chubb's not back to what HE was before last year's injury, and Eason isn't yet even nearcwhat he has the talent and background to someglday possibly be. THEIR defense isn't in our class to begin with, we have good RBs (at least 2 of whom, freshmen getting better with experience, have it in THEM to be great--don't think we'll miss Thompson much here either), and DelRio should have fewer cobwebs, better performance as a player AND "game mgr" all around by now, especially with the extra week of rest, film and practice...
And yet...After that 2nd half via Tennessee, I was and am determined not to inflate my own hopes: Frankly, the bottom line truth for me regarding any of it is "I dunno WHAT to think!!!".
In ANY of these matchups over the years, emotion and in-game swings of emotion (with resulting and/or game-CHANGING changes) have tended to decide matters. We start dropping passes, punts and dumb penalties early on and the whole thing could get away from us quick. FORCE any or all of the same, hey, just overwhelm them from the start and, with the Vols in our memory, just step on their necks and keep on going in the 2nd half and we have it in us to BURY them.
I'll tell you this, though: This one will be a clear public test for this Florida coaching staff. To the point that it can, OUGHT to be viewed as "Pass/Fail" for the Gator OC, however it goes. Barring a huge jump forward in scheme, performance and overall play-calling, I'd like to see him replaced in any event after the season, but if Nussmeier IS to retain Mac's confidence and his job as OC, it has to begin RIGHT HERE AND NOW.
Yes, we are still thin and under-talented in what we do have on the O-line (a major requirement in the next recruiting class); It will be up to our playmakers at the skill positions, and that's why it is all the more dependant on scheme and imaginative playcalling to get it done here today.
Can only hope for the best, at this point.
GO GATORS!!!

So tired of this offense.
Everyone in the stadium knew a draw was coming. DelRio looks bad and hurt.

That INT was pitiful.

Didn't know you were over here, mg.
Saw E-was back and had a "Cocktail Party" gameday thread up and going that coupla of our regs had already found, so I moved over there...But you can see over there that I had virtually the same reactions to all the same game action as you were commenting on over HERE, over there... Lol
Our O was still pretty damn putrid--though we DID eliminate all the dumb penalties in the 2nd half at least. And O DID do some things in the 2nd half too (barely enough--but it made enough of a diff to bring a win).
Here's a question: With BOTH "promising young freshman QBs" still with their red shirts intact, do we get one of them some game action if/when we drop some of the tough ones ahead? And if we do, who and when, at what point? I was so inclined back when I thought we were bout to host LSU back in early Oct, but now I guess we let it ride, gove Luke the ball--and MAYBE COME UP WITH SOME IMAGINATIVE GAMEPLANS that HELP him succeed by getting it to our playmakers on offense--we do have a few, right? We saw what our RBs can do when given a chance, we already knew bout Calloway (strengths AND dangers--needs more experience, just like RBs), but we're STILL not getting Powell OR Hammond enough--BOTH maybe have the most upside potential of all. With all we're missing, especially on the O line, thats where our so far-dormant explosiveness, mainly untapped potential looks to be lying, imho.
Without it, that offense is consistent mainly just in being UNWATCHABLE MOST OF THE TIME.
(And boy, arecyou ever right about our needs on the O line--wecadd 2 or 3 real good ones to what we got and have coming along already, begin getting them involved in the course of their true freshman seasons, and EVERYTHING will be on the "up elevator" on offense...Gonna need it, too: We'll be losing some of our standouts on defense to the NFL after this season, will HAVE to score more to get 10+ wins once that happens.)
