FS Will Hill’s absence a major concern

"Someone sent me a tweet during Saturday’s game asking, “where is will hill?” Answer is easy: chilling on the sideline. Again.

What I really want to know is where Hill was Monday through Friday last week.

Hill said in the pre-season he was recommitted to the team after a “lazy” 2009 season, but has yet to play this fall. Hill is supposed to be the team’s starting free safety, but coach Urban Meyer said he’s not “ready to play.” That’s usually Meyer’s code for suspension."

The last thing Coach has said is "he's not ready to play". When Ahmad Black was asked he declined to comment, I would say he's probably still not ready to play...........but I'm not Coach.

Man, I hope so. Until the "O" gets itself sorted out and performing more smoothly the "D" will HAVE to keep things in hand, maybe even continue to do some of the scoring!

According to Coach Heater, Will Hill is making the trip to Knoxville; no word as to whether or not he'll be starting but if he's cleared up the issues that kept him on the bench these last two games, he should be active.

The coaches might know something that I don't. But it looks like Elam should be starting as the replacement for Hill, not Josh Evans. Elam is making plays. Evans is just sort of there. Ahmad Black can cover Elam's noob mistakes but Ahmad Black cannot force plays on Evan's behalf. Coach Austin doesn't need to play it safe when his other secondary players are stars. A minor slip up on Elam's behalf is worth the other big plays he will force in the meantime, whether it is a turnover or a devastating hit.
