Actually, this is "night before" preview/send off:
Fitting because THIS IS IT--We "run the gauntlet", basically, from here.
I'm no longer able to clearly judge our team OR the opponents ahead. Are we gonna stay so black'n'white in O'n'D from here? Are our opponents as good or bad as their last game(s) would indicate? I just don't know, can't tell for sure--and I've given up listening to what they yammer on radio, etc. It's as bad as the damn election-babble. So many agendas, and none of 'em strike me as either knowledgeable OR honest.
(I'm talking about College football here--but you see the larger problem, right?)
Anyhow, all I can do, all I'm at all equipped for at the moment is just to try and find a sort of "emotional balance" and just be there to watch the next one--like our team (we hope): Play the opponent in front of us, and do it with as little regard for everything before, after, outside of and/or around it and us as possible. Prepare, execute, adapt, WIN--but then (whatever the result) evaluate and move on. Do the same the next week.
We can beat this Razorback team--and NOT because Auburn slaughtered them. If anything, it'll be more IN SPITE OF tjat: they were exhausted going into that one, then were embarrased in it, and have had an extra week to absorb it, distance themselves while letting it motivate themselves, then move on.
No, we can beat them because even on offense, we match up well against them over all. If we get the lead and have it in the 2nd half, our D is very capable of making it stick--Vols game notwithstanding. That was a lesson I do not believe was lost on the staff and every member of our team. I tend to feel we just gotta "survive" the first few minutes of the game, the crowd wild and into it...Of course, a quick score would help. But a general "rope-a-dope" strategy like against UGA will probably occupy a fair portion of mid-game.
I HOPE we come out swinging, DO try to shut up the crowd, put the other squad on their heels early, but the current Gator team has mostly so far won with a "tie-em-up and play field position" approach of late...Just don't know if DelRio had healed enough or our young team has grown up or jelled enough to reliably apply an early knock out.
Might be ugly. From what I've seen so far, that's how we win. And at this point, even as I bitch and bellyache about it in-game, I PROMISE to be satisfied, even happy, long as we somehow find a way to do that.
GO GATORS!!!!!

OK Here we go...
(Btw, heard Mac talking to reporters as he arrived at stadium with team coupla hrs ago, said "Everyone hates us anyway, especially in the SEC--and now them and all of you have all kinds more reasons. All we hear is how unworthy we are, how we don't belong. We'll show up, though."
Our coach has fully realized what it means to be a Gator.
Meanwhile, Razorbacks are opening up with a drive into our side of the field.
Tighten it UP, Gators! 3rd and longish...

OK. 4th down. Lets see what they do here.
Damn. Jefferson down in our defensive secondary. Can't let them keep pressing us deep...

Crap. Terrible throw. 7 down.
May not watch this long.
"Turning point in season" right there.

With our running game, WHY DIDN'T WE START WITH THE RUN GAME FROM THE START? Clearly Delrio can throw--but is inconsistent. Hold your breath every time he drops back.
Dropped pass--or else 1st down. Oh oh.
My friends--either our D gets it back, turns this around RIGHT NOW--or we lose this one.

We are gonna lose.
And I don't think they need to score again.

I'm almost ready to say throw a freshman qb in there so they can get some experience
Totally agree--in fact, I'm THERE already.
Don't know what Delrio's prob is, don't CARE anymore. Only catch to our "solition" is, Nussmeier had no gameplan in place for offense WITH his chosen "experienced" and "steady game mgr." qb--what's he got for a no doubt unprepared freshman?
Now, gove our HEAD Coach a week with him, maybe it'd be different.
As things are, our only HOPE is that the ARKANSAS coaches keep their mediocrity throwing--maybe our D can get us even.
But if/when they just smarten up and keep ot on the ground, mot as of there is ANY sign this Luke-"led" offence can do ANYTHING.
PATHETIC, really.

Our starting qb can't do anything very well--and the OC's only apparent plan was to come in throwing. In this way, it is more and more clear we have already LOST this one. O line has gotten more lame, qb sucks worse and worse, and now same is happening to the D, wearing down like 2nd half of Tennessee. Bullshit PI call--but who cares?
Our team wasn't ready to play from start, and no WAY this offense cpable of "coming back".
Can't, WON'T watch this embarrassing validation of the worst everyone outside of The Nation has been saying about us. We might well again lose out, like last year.
Mac HAS to go out and recruit O-Linemen, and a 5 STAR QUARTERBACK.
And one more thinG: I'm back on the "Fire Nussmeier" campaign trail.
Yeah, I KNOW that sets us back a year, pracrtically and realistically while new scheme and terminology etc. are being installed...but we won't be "there" yet in thr other areas anyway. Our Offense is a LIABILITY, one that can only be truly "fixed" by starting over ACROSS THE BOARD.
I am so disappointed in this NON-response to the challenge November and our somewhat fortunate position coming in had us, that I am back to being completely without hope or enthusiasm for anything further being worth following here rest of the 2016 season. Let em get in some CRAP Bowl so they can continue practicing, recruiting same way an extra month plus...but even then, practically useless, even a waste, if all they do is keep playing EITHER of these transfer-qb's. ONLY imaginative, longterm HOPEFUL way to go is to START THE RESET/REBUILD NOW: Get one of these freshmen qbs in, see what HE'S got, start the elimination-game with RBs to begin to set the true "pecking order" and who you use when and where--and MAKE THE CHANGE AT OC NOW. After today's loss (and I pity you if you continue watching with ANY expectation of the Luke led Gator offense coming back to even get CLOSE here), a big move now COULD save us damn near that 1 year you tend to lose when changing OCs after/BETWEEN seasons.
Coaching IS suspect with respect to our offense, and I'm NOT ready to throw Mac under the bus. Wanna see him take agressive action to get things going some other way now, though. I don't know that I'll bother watching another game until that begins.

Well with play like this we lose to lsu.

It seems like we sold our soul to the devil (urban) and having Tebow the greatest college qb ever was a curse. Just when we thought the position had changed with Grier , it went up in flames and he gets in trouble
If mac did push him out of the program this shows it was the wrong move. He would have already been back by now

Note that my LAST post before this one came late in the 2nd quarter.
We haven't scored even ONE Offensive TD here--after giving away 7 first time this qb touched the ball, then throwing a pop-up style poor pass on a double-teamed fly route the only time we drove on 'em (back in the first quarter!). We have made the #110th ranked defense look like the Buddy Ryan Bears, for crying out loud.
No, as I recommended in all seriousness, again in that last post, the ONLY way to properly respond to both this "performance" and "plan" (properly prefaced by "non-" in both cases) is SHOCK TREATMENT: Begin the long, hard road back to where we want to be in drastic, immediate fashion. If we start now, much of the time and innevitable backtracking will be mostly finished and behind us by the time the 2017 season begins--as opposed to be having to begin practice and play in the MIDDLE of a certain amount of seeming chaos and confusion that will slow progress down even more as we begin and play out the season. Start now, and we don't necessarily end up having to write off NEXT year--just the rest of this one--which we all agree MIGHT be a "lose'em ALL" deal ANYWAY.
Let's put the stress on changing, growing, hunkering down and getting ready to improve as a team and program, in every way.
And throw this whole damn offense away--crumple it up, tear off a fresh sheet and START ALL OVER. I mean, we gotta coupla/few decent pieces, let's streamline to those few and make them a part of something MUCH greater.
We continue to flog this DEAD horse, we gain nothing, while young SEC teams around us pass us on both sides...But "walk thru fire" now and we can be the team coming on (like Auburn now) by mid-to-late season next year, and be ready to fully dominate, and for years to come, by the season after.
But we have to make all the right moves, and we have to start NOW.
We stick to the "make a few adjustments and stay the course" BS, and it just won't happen fast enough, if it happens at all.
Mac will get another couple of years, especially if there's clear improvement--but if it's just from "mostly sorta crappy, disappointing and frustrating" to "not as inept but still not much above mediocre in key areas"--and all for only marginally better record and few big wins, well, that's ALL he'll get.
Please, Coach, don't follow the Muschamp Trail...WAKE UP!!! Break free!!! It's both your AND our best hope!!!
