Florida could end up with a big man added to its 2016 class by early next week.
Three-star 6-foot-9 power forward Dontay Bassett visited the Florida campus over the weekend and is expected to choose between Florida and Colorado on Tuesday.

Bassett goes to the same high school (Oldsmar Christian outside of Tampa) as Florida’s lone current commitment in its 2016 class, combo guard Eric Hester. At 210 pounds, Bassett is somewhat of a late bloomer. He’s grown four inches in high school and has only played organized basketball for three years. A strong defender and rebounder in the post with shooting touch out to 12 feet, Bassett’s best basketball could be ahead of him.
Earlier this fall, Florida had visits from 2016 four-star big man prospects Tyler Cook and Eddie Ekiyor. But Cook committed to Iowa and Ekiyor committed to Xavier earlier this week.
