It appears that Florida could be close to adding a versatile big man for its 2014 class.
Devin Robinson, a 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward from Chesterfield, Va., is set to announce his college choice tomorrow. SNY.com’s Adam Zagoria is reporting that Robinson is leaning toward Florida, though Oklahoma State, Indiana and Notre Dame also remain in play.
Florida coach Billy Donovan visited Robinson in Virginia earlier this month. ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla described Robinson as an undervalued player in a recent tweet. In its scouting report, ESPN.com rated Robinson as a four-star prospect based on his ability to play in transition and hit open 3-pointers. Robinson also is considered a good passer and has potential to thrive in UF’s up-tempo offense.
If Robinson commits, he would join 5-10 forward Chris Chiozza and 6-5 guard Brandone Francis as the third commitment of UF’s 2014 class. Florida also has commitments locked up for 2015 (F Kevarrius Hayes) and 2016 (F-C John Cooney).
