Gators move up to No. 4

That PSU loss was a gift. The gators are now ranked No. 4 in the BCS.

Of Texas Tech, Texas, and Oklahoma... only one of them can win the Big 12 South, and ultimately the Big 12.

I'm still confident that if the Gators win out and beat a No. 1 ranked Alabama team, that we will be in the BCS Championship.. and probably be favorites.

I figured we'd move up a slot after Iowa beat Penn State. Still, the Gators need to win out in order to stay in contention for a shot at the National Championship.

The ESPN BCS expert (his name escapes me) said if the Gators win out, they will be one of the top two teams heading into the BCS selection show. This guy has predicted every BCS ranking correctly since he took the job at ESPN.

It all comes down to being in the right place at the right time, just as it did back in 2006.

If I were Urban Meyer, my strategy would go like this:

Impressive wins over South Carolina and the school out west; the goal here is to either maintain or improve out BCS standing and accrue some more "style points".

Establish an early lead against The Citadel, then get our starters out of there to get them rested for the SOW and the SECCG.

Be ready to face Bama in Atlanta, win the game and finally capture one of the top 2 BCS slots by Selection Sunday.

I think we're #3 in the human polls, but the computers have us at #5. Even with the Citadel game though, USCe, FSU, and Bama should push the computer ranking up a lot.

Well Texas shouldn't be ahead of us (well at least not for the championship game) because unless Texas Tech loses two games in a row, Texas won't play in the Big 12 game. and remember what happened if Georgia last year.
