Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps combined for 263 rushing yards, as Florida jumped on Kentucky early scoring 21 points in the first quarter en route to a 48-10 victory.

UF remains undefeated with a 4-0 record heading into next Saturday's game against No. 3 Alabama.

The Gators have defeated the Wildcats 25 straight games.

The Gator defense allowed just one touchdown and limited the Wildcat offense to just four conversions out of 17 third downs while sacking the Wildcats twice and forcing two fumbles and two interceptions.

The Gator running game compiled 406 total rushing yards. The 405 yards rushing by Florida was the sixth-best single-game performance in school history and the most yardage on the ground since 466 against New Mexico in 1989.

"I was pleased with our running game," Will Muschamp said after the game. "This is a line of scrimmage league and you have to be able to do that."

He added, "As you know it's a tough league to win. Taking 26 guys who have never made a trip before, we're very pleased. I think that our young players especially understood what was at steak and our older players helped pushing them through."

"I'm really proud of our offensive line. They did a nice job of getting a hat-to-a-hat."

The Gators piled it on early. After going 3-and-out on its first drive, UF and QB John Brantley were pinned on their own eight-yard line and moved the ball to the 24 before failing to make a first down on third and 14.

On the ensuing drive, Kentucky running back Josh Clemons was hit at the line of scrimmage where he coughed up the ball which was recovered by Gator defensive tackle Omar Hunter on the Kentucky 45-yard line.

Brantley then got the Gators on the scoreboard on the first play of the third offensive drive hitting sophomore Gerald Christian over the middle on a blown coverage, but a nice pass which resulted in a 45 yard touchdown. It was Christian's first career touchdown.

The Gator defense then forced a 3-and-out, forcing the Wildcats to give the Gators the ball back on their own 44 yard line. On 3rd and 7 Brantley hit Frankie Hammond Jr for a 33 yard completion to move the chains to the Kentucky 20. From there Demps outran the Wildcat defense, something he would do again, for thesecond touchdown of the game.

Gator sophomore safety Matt Elam then intercepted Kentucky QB Morgan Newton on 3-and-10 giving the Gators great field position again at the Kentucky 28 yard line. From there Rainey ran the ball 27 yards and Trey Burton punched it in for a one-yard touchdown score making it 21-0 Gators with about 12 minutes off the game clock.

The Kentucky offense was able to put together a nice 11 play 69 yard drive which resulted in a 24-yard field goal to close out the first quarter.

After the Gators offense was forced to put, the Kentucky offense was backed up on its own nine-yard line. From there Gator linebacker Jon Bostic came offer the left edge and blindsided Newton for the sack and forcing a fumble which was scooped up by Jaye Howard who scored the touchdown making it 28-3 with 11:30 to go in the game.

The Gator offense managed another field goal before the half but Brantley was forced out of the game after taking a clean hit from Wildcat LB Danny Trevathan. Brantley would return but it true freshman Jeff Driskel closed out the second half with an interception resulting from a pass off the hands of Hammond near the endzone.

The Kentucky offense scored its only touchdown on a 19 yard touchdown grab by wide receiver La’Rod King. King, the replay showed, pushed off on Moses Jenkins but made a one-handed grab for the touchdown making it 31-10 going into the half.

To start the third quarter Brantley returned to the game after the Gators forced the Wildcats to punt once again. The Gator offense ran four straight running plays and then on the fifth straight running play Demps found a lane and took it to the house for 84-yards.

On the ensuing drive Newton was intercepted by Gator linebacker Michael Taylor who took the ball back 30 yards. The Gators used the Wild Cat but had to settle for a 27 yard field goal making it 41-10 with 3:10 left in the 3rd quarter.

The Gators would tact on another 7 points with a 60-yard touchdown run by running back Mike Gillislee giving the Gators a 48-10 lead with just under eight minutes play, a lead which would prove to be the final score.

Brantley finished with 114 yards on 15 passing attempts with eight completions and one touchdown. Coach Will Muschamp said that Brantley was "fine" and will play next Saturday against 'Bama. Muschamp said that if he needed to, Brantley could have finished the game, but that they wanted to prepare Driskel should they need him to come in again at some point in the season.

The Gators struggled on 3rd-down going just 4-for-11. The Gators were perfect in the redzone going two-for-two with a field goal and a touchdown. The Gators have scored points on 16-straight red zone trips this season (9 TD, 7 FG).

Meanwhile, the Gator defense which was leading FBS in rushing defense, allowing 92 yards in three games, gave up 135 yards on the ground against the Wildcats.

Play of the Game: Jeff Demps' 84 yards touchdown run, which may be one of the fastest sprints to an endzone ever made by a running back.

Honorable Mention: Jon Bostic's sack of Morgan Newton in the endzone forcing a fumble which was recovered by Jaye Howard for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Player of the Game: Jeff Demps 2 touchdowns 157 yards (career high rushing yards)

I know Demps and Rainey are starting to scare some of our future competition. That 84 yard run by Demps was insane!

Hope Rainey's OK. I know he came back and all that, but you could see he wasn't "right" after that awkward, twisting tackle/fall. He's been flying around out there, feet barely touching the ground and just gobbling up yardage, but now that Demps' condition is getting back to "full speed" and completely healed, HE'S finally starting to get that "other, extra gear" back now too, and it would be more than a shame if we didn't have BOTH of them available at full speed for Alabama.
We're going to need ALL our playmakers--and maybe a couple we don't KNOW we have yet.
