Have you ever seen Urban in public?

Have you ever seen Urban Meyer out in public? Like at a restaurant or at the grocery store?

I saw the Zooker at a FedEx store, the one off Newberry by Stonewood and the movie theater.

I have yet to see Urban.

i have met Steve Spurrier, he even signed a vintage UF jersey of his that i have. I live close to his hometown in Johnson City, TN. He comes back here often to give speech's for his former High School.

Living in Orlando, it's hard for me to see any of them in public. Although once, I did see Urban drive off in an SUV after one of the Women's Clinics I attended in Gainesville on a Saturday afternoon.

Well I'm on the UF campus about 5 days a week and was there pretty regularly even when I was still at Santa Fe, so I've seen him quite a few times. His jogging route is pretty regular, so I've seen him about 4 times running along Stadium Road. The other times were just random on campus sightings from across a commons or something like that.

Well, it wasn't actually "in public"... one time I was on campus, and was walking around the stadium looking for someone. On the sidewalk outside the stadium, I ran into Coach Meyer and Tim Tebow (the summer before Tim's sophomore year). My husband asked Coach a question, who got on his cell phone and told us where we needed to go. They were both really cool, very nice and easy going with us!

There were a couple of times I got to talk briefly with Shelley Meyer; the first time was at the 2005 Women's Football Clinic and the second time was at last year's Gator Gathering in Daytona Beach.

I remember the first , and only, time I ever saw Tebow around campus was the day of my girlfriend's Preview/Orientation day for UF. Her parents both drove up from Orlando to go with us and, as I think I mentioned in the Picture thread, her father is obsessed with Oklahoma Sooner football and cannot stand UF in any capacity. He's still very proud of her for going here (though today is her last day of classes before graduation in August), but it isn't enough to make him hate the school less. As we were driving down University we see Tebow driving on his scooter ahead of us and Chip turned away to follow him while talking to his friend (another OU) fan on his cell about how much they hate Tebow, how he should hit him, etc. He only followed him for about 2 blocks, but it was enough time for him to get in plenty of digs.

The whole time I felt this odd sense of pride that our QB was so good as to elicit such an extreme level of hatred from fans of a team that Tebow had never - at that time at least - played against.
