SO the question is if he is good enough to come back will he see the field or will he just wait it out and get ready for the NFL
......sounds like he wants to.Barring a serious change of heart (as well as medical approval), Cornelius Ingram will never suit up for the Florida football team again.
But Saturday afternoon, when he was introduced for Senior Day, the Hawthorne native showed Gator fans he is well on his way to recovery from a torn ACL.
A few seconds after he was the final UF player announced (Mr. Two Bits came out last), Ingram bent down on the goal line in a sprinter's stance and jogged three-quarters speed for about 35 yards before hugging coach Urban Meyer.
The loudest Senior Day player ovations came for Ingram, long-snapper James Smith (a Buchholz product), running back Kestahn Moore and receiver Louis Murphy.
Of Ingram possibly returning to the lineup for UF's bowl game, Meyer said the tight end is trying.
"CI is having some strategic people ask me," Meyer said.
Will that be possible?
He can apply for a medical redshirt... and maybe get granted 1 more year.
Not sure if its in his best interest though. If he waits 1 more year, he'll be 24 years old by the 2010 NFL draft and have to be compared to other guys who are 20 and 21.
There will be a spot for him on an NFL roster... probably special teams until he can prove himself.
