I'm rooting for Oregon

Maybe if they were playing f$u or scUM.

But I really want to see the NC stay in the SEC, even if its Auburn. Oregon may be rated #2, but they are vastly over-rated in comparison to the Auburn team.

I'm pulling for the Barners.

SEC. Even better if the national championship gets vacated due to NCAA violations. If no violations, then that's okay as well.

Yep. Gotta keep the NC in the SEC. As much as it pains me, I'd even pull for Tennessee, lol, not that it will happen anytime soon.

Yeah, guess y'all are right; I LIKE seeing them having to say it every time it's talked about, or putting it up as a "crawl" 'cross the bottom of the screen, "Last ___ BCS Champions have come from SEC...".
It hurts, though, in SO many ways...I just can't root for Auburn OR Cam with any enthusiam or happiness.
Meanwhile, I give grudging respect to Oregon and their coach, getting rid of Mazzoli for similar reasons as those that caused Urban and the Gators to let Cam go, only it hasn't cost or BIT them the way it did us (though it may be ABOUT to, strangely enough--ie. OURS biting THEM).
Pretty damn complicated feelings swirling around this game for us, wouldn't ya say?
All that really concerns me by now is how WE are gonna get back there! We MAY be in the process of putting together another ultra-talented squad, one with a similar potential to dominate big-time college football as the '08/'09 teams--but without the right coaching and player chemistry in place from the start, it COULD instead turn out to be a lesson in blown-opportunities and what-might-have-beens.
Hard to care too much about this particular outcome, or abstract details I might grab onto in order to find SOME reason to cheer for SOMEBODY.
Sorry. "It's only a game--you're supposed to enjoy yourself, have fun! At least it's an excuse to drink and over-indulge!" So says my girlfriend. I'll be watching, of course, and no doubt I can manage the last part, at the minimum. I can "over-indulge" with the best of 'em.

@DRU2012 - Once upon a time, Auburn was our biggest rival. When the conference split, I think that there was enough positive input from the UF people (Spurrier & Foley), so that the Auburn Georgia games were no longer scheduled back-to-back as they once were. The AU game now rotates every 7 years, thank God. Most of the losses to UGA came about from the fact that the AU game was so tough & physical the week before. Now, UGA is stuck in that position! LMAO!

If you need a different perspective, try this...do you really want to see one of those sissy PAC-10 teams as the national champion? If Oregon was playing the Little Sisters of the Poor, I'd be rooting for the Little Sisters! Maybe ...even ...oh my ....grrr ...Ohio State, too - and I REALLY hate those guys!

Auburn will "murder da bums!"

Good angle, man! I can manage that one...but no WAY you will EVER hear "War Eagle!" coming out of MY mouth...
(BTW, I'd forgotten about that back-to-back Auburn/UGA and it's annual effect on the part I DO recall: Bulldogs beating us, usually right at the END of the game, it seemed. We also used to play Miami the first game of the season each year as well, back when they weren't very good yet--hardly better than us in the late 70's, just before Schnellenburg arrived there--but every bit as vile and obnoxious!)

I refuse to say "War Eagle". I will chant "SEC" and post "Go Tigers" on Facebook. That is all. With an SEC win, I can "save face" by arguing my team finished 7-5 in the toughest conference. On a side note, it gives me a built in excuse if things don't change next year and we get schwacked by Auburn.

Don't know if you remember this or not, but the game with scUM was so poorly attended by scum fans when we played them at home in the Orange Bowl, that the game was moved to neutral locations, to increase the attendance, so that scUM had a decent payday.

This was in the 70's, when I lived in Orlando. I remember attending games at the old Tangerine Bowl and at the old stadium in Tampa during those times. All these games were basically ho-hummers, no excitement.

scUM could never get over the infamous Florida Flop, though!

And, then there was this little incident:

(Gator home game) They were pelting us with oranges,'' Bailey said. "How are you supposed to act like somebody when they're sitting in the stands and you're on the field and they're chucking oranges at you. The crowd was beyond anything that I had ever seen.''

Their behavior so incensed Schnellenberger, then in his second year at UM, that he called a time out to tack on a meaningless 25-yard field goal on the game's final play in a 31-7 victory. "I did that because I wanted the press to come and ask me why I kicked the field goal then,'' Schnellenberger said.

This is also why Howard was never offered the UF job after it came open, and was no longer at scUM.

SEC.
Only problem w/ that is the fall-out the conference might get splattered with after the ncaa completes their investigation into auburn's booster shenanigans...
