Is college football like mlb?

Does anyone else see the comparisons with college football and major league baseball? Just like in baseball, only the top college get the top recruits. This ensures that the good teams stay good. It doesn't leave any room for the small colleges to improve, just like the small market teams in baseball always suck (devil rays).

It kind of seems like the Gators and Buckeyes and Trojans can be compared to the Yankees, Mets, or Red Sox.

it cant be bad because its been like this since the inception of sports. the teams who win always have more benefits. College football is probably the most followed sport, people say the nfl is bigger but really people are going to give up on the bucs before the give up on the usf bulls. sports will always have its dominant teams, and power houses thats just the way it is. every once in awhile a team proves having a great coaching staff and players who want to win, such as rutgers this year, will surprise everyone. george mason of basketball last year, you will always have your power houses but there will always be a cinderella story too

The difference is, in MLB there is money being spent. Any team can dominate the free agent market as long as they can pony up the money. Players in baseball don't go to a team for tradition. They go there for 1 reason only... money.

That is the difference like Swampman said. Baseball players go to any team depending on the amount of money they can make. High school athletes choose a college based on their program, tradition, facilities, coaching and if playing there can give them exposure to NFL scouts.

It's the same in every sport and in life. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
