Good decision by Coach Meyer. One of the team's core values is no violent acts against women; Rickerson knew this but did what he did - and now he's no longer a Gator.

Just what we needed - a distraction heading into a crucial game. Jacques Rickerson, you're an asshat.

True. It's a privilege for any of our players to wear that Gator uniform, and at the drop of a hat it can be taken away if they do something stupid or break one of the core values.

Still, I give kudos to Meyer for being proactive and giving Rickerson the boot right away. Violence against women, no matter where it takes place, is unacceptable in our society.

I agree O-Town playing for the Gators is a privilege (well playing for a big time program really). You got about 1,000 HS players wanting to be Gators, about 100 to 150 have a legit chance and most of them have (I hope) better attitudes than Thomas, Hornbsy, R. Wilson, and Rickerson all those who Mayer booted. I wonder what if Meyer coached Lawrence Phillips in those mid 1990's Nebraska teams?
