doesnt really seem like we'll be seeing much of him the rest of the season. maybe for a bowl game he'd be 100%. good thing we have rainey back.

Coach says he's playin'.
Injury notes: UF running back Jeff Demps was available last week against Vanderbilt but Meyer elected not to use the speedster because the game was out of hand from early in the second quarter.
It's unlikely the same situation will present itself against the Gamecocks on Saturday, and Meyer expects Demps to play in a limited role.
"He'll play. He won't play the whole game," Meyer said.

anyone think there could be more to this injury than they are letting on? seems like a long time for a sprain.

Sprain is an ambiguous description. One sprain can take you out of a game for just a series. Another type of sprain can end a season for you. Demps could have anything in between.

With a 5'8", 190-pounder, he is not very effective unless he is 100% healthy. He may be below 100% for the rest of the season. Even with that sprain, he will probably play against SC, then used sparingly if at all against Appalachia and SOW.

i wouldve rather had him sit out completely for a couple games and try to get 100% healthy by now. with someone like him who relies on speed so much being less than 100% makes a huge difference.

Lets face it: he was over-used in that stubbornly stupid "we're a smashmouth team"-scheme of Addazio's--we all saw it coming. Kemp is ALL about speed, and we used him up in a foolish fashion before he REALLY got rolling--guy like that needs a big line and/or a big OTHER runner back there with him to last a whole season and be real effective through it all. With other playmakers they could at least have used him more sparingly, but they didn't even give some of those a chance until AFTER Demps was already hurt.
Don't mean to dwell on spilt milk, but these were among the very things we were all so frustrated by in the weeks before and during that not-so-distant losing streak.
