Jerimy Finch gets the OK to play

How can he play in 2008 without sitting out a year?


Indiana safety Jerimy Finch received a waiver from the NCAA Thursday enabling him to play for the school this season after transferring from Florida. Finch appeared in three games at linebacker for the Gators last year before suffering a broken leg versus Tennessee. He collected seven tackles and was one of three true freshmen to record an interception.


Finch was a two-time first-team All-State player at Warren Central High School in Indiana where he was rated the No. 1 safety in the nation by Rivals.com.

They're probably letting him play since he missed most of last season with his injury. If he would have stayed at Florida, he might have used a medical hardship. Maybe the NCAA took that into consideration.
