Meyer: FLORIDA is my dream job

I'm glad he addressed the comments. If he would have let it slide, there would have been more doubt and it would have become a bigger issue.

Joe Gator at "Bleacher Report" reamed it to some of these hacks in the media spreading rumors: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/93932-yes-virginia-urban-is-coming-to-notre-dame-but-not-til-youre-all-grown-up

Props to Joe. Maybe NOW some of these hack reporters and other blowhards in the media will get their facts straight and not spin stories as they seem fit. I like how direct he is and the way he tells it like it is.

Another point I want to make - and this is directed at all the rumor-mongers out there who are "supposedly" on the Gator beat who may read this post: if you really care about Florida football, you may want to think about the effect some of these rumors could possibly have on recruiting. If ever a recruit was discouraged from committing to UF football because of some innuendo he read or heard in the media, then the joke's on YOU - not to mention the potential damage that could be done.

Should Coach Meyer lead our Gators to another National Championship, which would be our third and his second in a matter of two years, I hope Jeremy Foley gives him a generous raise and contract extension to insure his tenure in Gainesville; he's earned it in my book.

I also have read Buddy Martin's book "Urban's Way"; it's great reading for any die-hard Gator football fan. I'm of the conviction that Notre Dame's timing in their firing of Ty Willingham back in 2004 was a political tactic, knowing that we were pursuing Urban Meyer to replace Zook after we fired him back in October of that same year, but that's my opinion and anyone may beg to differ. After weighing the pros and cons as well as getting input from Shelley and the kids, his father, Earle Bruce, Lou Holtz and others, he made the decision to come to Gainesville over South Bend in the end.

In one of the first speeches I heard Meyer make, he said that when you get Urban Meyer, you get the Urban Meyer Family. His number-one priority remains Shelley and their three kids, and that's something to be admired nowadays.

Maybe Meyer's coming to Gainesville was kismet, but after three years of Zook's nonsense we were in the right place at the right time to get the right fit for our football program and get the ship righted.

This Gator fan prays that Coach Meyer will be with us for a long time; I only see a bright future ahead of us as long as he's in charge.

GO GATORS!!!!!!!

this should already be known. He DID pick Florida over Notre Dame.

Now try and pound this into the heads of some of these bozos in the media and other Gator fans in cyberspace still doing the pee-pee dance over all this nonsense - that, or are unnecessarily reading too much into things.
