New Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen was greeted to over 300 alumni and fans at Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center Monday night.
Mississippi State fans are excited to see the new offense Mullen has been known to produce while he’s been a coordinator. Mullen believes the focus right now is recruiting and keeping in-state talent to head to Starkville.
“Our number one right now is recruiting,” Mullen said. “We’re focusing our attention right now on keeping our top high school and junior college talent in the state.”

I wish him the best of luck! But come 10/24 at Mississippi State when the Gators come to town, he better watch out!

I'm afraid he will be another line of coaches at Miss. State, who may be talented at coaching. Miss. State however is a program that has major trouble getting started.

Good Luck Dan!!

The SEC has become a conference where it is almost impossible to get started. Too many teams are already great so it makes it hard to get players. Plus, where would you wanna go, Gianesville, Florida or Starkeville, MS... But I do hope Mullen does well and then gets OUT of the SEC.

As far as recruiting in Mississippi goes, Houston Nutt pretty much has the upper hand and also Larry Fedora at Southern Miss. Mullen has some ground to cover, and won't catch up to either of those two this year.
