My Visit to Football Practice August 6, 2008

This afternoon my wife Katie and I took a trip to Gaineville and were lucky enough to be close to the practice fields as the player were getting ready for afternoon session.

I got a glimpse of Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, Chris Rainey, Jonathan Brantley, Brandon Spikes, and Cam Newton (who is the biggest man I have ever seen).

I put some photos in my album (with more to come later), but here is a small sample.

I only wish I could be in Gainesville right now; I'd love to take in some of spring practice that's still open to the public. I may try and get up to the fan day on the 17th in the O-dome if I can.

Great pics of Ttebow and Brantley!

Ya Brantley was super cool. He stopped for everyone to take pictures and autographs.

Tebow was a different story though... because he always has a mob around him, he didn't stop at all for pics... he just kept walking to the practice fields but was signing autographs for the kids along the way. You gotta understand though.. if he stops walking he'll get mobbed.

Percy Harvin was also really cool. He was the last guy out of the stadium headed towards practice. He signed a bunch of autographs, but by the time we got to him... some assistant came out and yelled "let's go Percy!" so he took off running.

One player who really impressed me at the O&B game was Emmanuel Moody - both on and off the field. He's bound for stardom at UF as a player IMO, and I was impressed with how friendly and personable he was when he was greeting fans in the stands during the autograph session.

oh gosh I am sooo jealous! I would love to be down there and be able to see the practice.

I was only at the practice for about 5-10 minutes. They are open to the public until this Saturday. I would have liked to stay longer, but I had to drive back to Jacksonville and our dog hadn't been let outside in like 8 hours.
