NCAA Restrictions

What do you think about Urban Meyer's recent speech in which he blasted the NCAA restrictions on the amount of contact a coach can have with a player?

Meyer said the lack of contact makes it hard to judge a person's character and leaves the program in a constant state of re-evaluation.

I agree with Urban. Back in the old days, a coach would literally spend the weekend with a top recruit and his family, and that coach knew exactly what he was getting when that player signed.

Having rules in place ensures a level playing field though. It also ensures that a coach can spend a certain amount of time with all the recruits.

Might be better to spend 10 hours with 5 recruits, then 10 hours with 1 recruit.

If Mark Richt would have spent more time with Matthew Stafford, he would have known that the man likes to chuck half-empty kegs in his free time. That would have been some nice info to have.

His complaints have been echoed by several other coaches throughout the nation.

so he would have known that stafford is the average college student? I don't really see your point with that!

I am not trying to start anything but everytime something goes wrong with the UF football team CUM blames someone besides himself, for example, last year when Uf started losing a couple games he blamed it on the players. never once did he say anything he could have done different like most respectful coaches do!

and the remark about it has been echoed by other coaches, yea like nick saban! lol

Bro, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm not denying anything you said. Urban might not shoudler some of the blame as he should in your opinion, but his way of coaching seems to be working, so I'll take it!

Hey Mr. Dawgystyle I'll admit something. UGA did have their A-game against the Gators last season. They came to play against the Gators and they wanted more. Sorry my fellow Gators fans but it's the true. However next season will be a different story. I hope both teams are undefeated when the big game kicks-off. :gator:

yes it will! Hopefully there won't be any fatalities this year. That's getting pretty old.

yea that was pretty sad a few years ago when that kid got thrown off of the parking garage. some people take it way to far.

see me before the game will drink a few and talk a lil smack then after the game if we win I will drink a few more and talk a lil more smack, if we lose I will drink a lot more and go back and eat my plate full of crow! considering I go to the game every year with a buch of UF fans
