Tallahassee Godby quarterback A.J. Graham was named Florida’s Mr. Football. Godby completed 244-of-396 passes for 3,870 yards and 38 touchdowns while rushing for 564 yards on 99 attempts and 10 touchdowns.
He beat out Miramar quarterback Eugene Smith by 11 points in the voting. Pensacola’s Escambia Trent Richardson was third, Tampa Plant’s Aaron Murray fourth, Pahokee’s Nu’Keese Richardson fifth, Madison County’s Chris Thompson sixth, Jupiter Christian’s Will Powers seventh and North Florida Christian’s Cody Ledford was eighth.
Tampa Plant’s Robert Weiner was named Coach of the Year, beating out Seminole’s Mike Cullison by five points. Eight points behind Weiner was Golby’s Shelton Crews followed by Bolles’ Corky Rogers, Jupiter Christian’s Bill Powers, Pahokee’s Blaze Thompson, Pine Forest’s Jerry Pollard and Fort Meade’s Mike Hayde.
