WE SUCK BIG ONES! I don't know what else to say.
I'm a Muschamp-supporter, until now, but this has been a severe disappointment: It has been the WAY we've been challenged, the way we've once again been beating ourselves and lacked discipline and coolness that is the most worrisome...We KNOW there's talent all over the field on this team, but the main problems are a result of us beating ourselves. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the penalties: that shows a breakdown in the sense of "team", in the trust and respect that players have for their coaches, and for each other. (Meanwhile, Gillislee continues to get stronger as the game goes on--the mark of the really good ones....and Brown drops one right in his hands with real estate ahead of him) Actually, now that it seems a (albeit tentative) decision has been made at QB, I'm less worried about that: Driskel CAN play the position, and play it well--he just needs to say "F*ck it!" and throw the ball instinctively the way he has practically his whole life, like he did on that TD pass, and stop thinking so much (Long FG by Sturgis...starting to stumblingly, bumblingly assert ourselves finally), and he'll be fine. It's all these other issues that are difficult to see fixed quickly, or anytime soon, for that matter--on too many levels, nothing has changed since LAST season...Bad News! It's the first game of the season and I'm already depressed, idk if muschamp is the right guy for us or not now
We BETTER cut down on the penalties, and play tighter offense a lot earlier, or we'll be in deep doo-doo against ANY SEC team...remember, we had a highly-rated defense LAST year, but even they got tired and were left vulnerable late in games by a toothless offense that couldn't at least give that "D" a couple of extended rests in the course of the game, let alone give them a lead to defend.I just hope we can beat the damn vols I can't stand losing to those pos
