Is the secret play the Dive left instead of the Dive right?

How did you figure out the secret?

I just realized your location is listed as Pensacola. If you haven't figured it out from my username, I am also from Pensacola.

I'm a Pine Forest grad. I'm assuming you went to our arch rival, Escambia. I have lots of fond memories of eye gouges, finger breaks, and biting at the bottom of those piles.

Pensacola HS was our arch rival on the field, but we did get into tussles with P3nis Fungus High School off the field on occasion back in the 90s. It was rough. A PFHS kid stabbed an EHS kid in the belly with a knife and it ignited a tire slashing fight between the schools. All we ever did against PHS was paint their tiger statue or steal their mascot costume.

While I was in high school 98-01, PHS wasn't much of a factor in football. It always came down to Escambia and Pine Forest. Our 2000 team was the best but Escambia upset us in the playoffs. We came back the next season with a big dropoff in talent but still won state by beating St. Thomas Aquinas in triple overtime in the Swamp. It was pretty cool.

I firmly believe the team is going to take off tomorrow. No matter how bad that UT team was, Brantley leading the Gators to a decisive victory in Neyland has to get his confidence going. It's been three games now. Time to get going.

In '92 we only won one game, against arch-rival PHS when they were nationally ranked. I heard that Escambia got better after I graduated in '94. They were really good a couple years ago when they had a running back named Trent Richardson.

St Thomas Aquinas seems to have always been good.

Back on topic, maybe the fact that this is an SEC game will motivate the Gators to win convincingly, rather than just winning. By a convincing win I don't mean blowing the Wildcats away by a billion points--I just mean playing Gator football.

I love it when I'm right. With the way things looked and how Meyer was playing the media, it just seemed like everything was finally clicking.

Yep. My only complaints: Mr. Brick Hands needs to catch the ball and continuity on the O-line. That's not a lot to complain about, really. I'm happy.

Tate grad here but when I matriculated through there was no Pine Forest High although my oldest sister did teach English there but still I believe before ya'lls time

deonte had what 1 drop come on you gotta get off his back :surrender:

i think he also had around 90 yards too on sat

ive seen brantley overthrow it quite a bit so......yea he needs to work on that some were easy TD's too

It's like the center-QB snap--it only takes one and it's open season to jump on someone's back. Deonte's drops happen to be at the few times when JB is going deep. How can we jump on JB when his primary deep threat is dropping one of a few passes going that deep? Deonte will get his 90 yards in chunks, but by snagging those deep passes he could easily be eclipsing 100 yards, and could be scaring the opposing secondary. Some of the overthrows were understandable...not excusable, but understandable. He needs some help from the receivers before I continue jumping on Brantley. Look at the alternative. Can Burton make those throws?

JB overthrows like a mofo when he he sees a guys wideopen, i dont know what it is its like he has to put some zip on it everytime

he cost DT, moore and hines, more TD's that way then DT has from drops

Just my thoughts, but Brantley is a "rhythm" QB. Once he establishes that rhythm he can help generate some offense, but throw him off that rhythm and he can't do anything back there. Part of the problem is the snap not being executed correctly at times by Mike Poncey - once that becomes a thing of the past, we have a major offensive issue resolved.

We know he has the arm strength to throw those long passes; now he needs to work on his accuracy a LOT more - on a side note, Deonte Thompson has shown that he can play the deep routes, but now needs to just catch the ball and hold onto it. Once that happens - another offensive issue resolved.

Two of my aunts graduated from Escambia during the riots when they were the Rebels, and my other aunt graduated while they had no mascot--they were in between the Rebels and the Gators.

Most of my cousins went to Tate or Pine Forest, or they went to one of the Christian schools--Pensacola Christian or Escambia Christian.

Back on topic, I know that Nick Saban head-hunts the opposing team's star players. I can see him sending a DL or LB to spear Demps and take him out of the equation. Moody and Gillislee can "take" the punishment, but not Demps on a gimp foot. Either way, we should go into Tuscaloosa wanting to win, but saving up for the rematch in Atlanta. Alabama has to win. Florida just needs to beat them later in the year.

im glad u were right lol...we def needed that kind of game to get our heads right going into bama...

and on the talk of 'butterfingers' thompson, he has had the same prob since day 1 at UF. he catches a few easy ones, maybe breaks off 5,6 yrds, but cant come up with that big catch. The one he dropped in the endzone bounced off his numbers LOL. I will give him 1 more chance, but for me to change my opinion about him he HAS to make that catch against bama or I have lost all hope.
