i will dearly miss seeing "the fat one" grimace while loosing to the gators!!!

i think UT has made a mistake, fulmer is a good coach. i think the problem with UT lately is:

1. recruiting
2. finding a compatible off. coordinator
3. huge increase in talent of the competition considering UF, LSU, BAMA, USC all have coaches that have great recruits and coaches that have one the NC. not including the year Auburn got F'ed and left out of the NC game, and UGA which is always a threat.

4. a reliable QB, they haven't had a great QB IMO since Tee Martin when they won the NC

Does anyone see fulmer coaching at a different team or do you think he is done for good?
can you imagine him trading one orange color for another at Clemson?

The rumor mill on who will replace Fulmer is already spinning in cyberspace. So far the names I've seen thrown around are Cutcliffe, Leach, Butch Davis, Will Muschamp (Texas DC), hiring Jimbo Fisher away from the SOW, and even (LMAO!) the Zooker.

I also tend to think Tennessee jumped the gun in haste; Fulmer had another off-year in recruiting and that in part accounts for their mediocre performance. Each team has their peaks-and-valleys; a good example of a team recently rebounding from their "down" cycle is Penn State. Who knows; there could have been a lot more behind the decision that was made that we haven't read about yet, and for some time he's been under fire from the Vol boosters.

As far as Clemson goes, if they don't extend a permanent offer to Dabo Swinney I've read that because Bobby Johnson (Vandy HC) has ties to that school that he's being considered for that job.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I figured they would fire him..but I guess he just decided not to return.

I don't understand why Tennessee wants to replace Fulmer with a defensive coordinator. It's not like defense was their weakness.

I myself believe that UT made a huge mistake. Many of their High school players coming will jump ship because of the head coaching change. I hate UT but i hate to see him go a great coach. I wish him the best.

Depending on who they hire to replace Fulmer, what happened today will have an effect on their 2009 class one way or the other.

IMO they lost probably the strongest recruiter among their assistant coaches when Trooper Taylor bailed after last season to go to Oklahoma State.

Really? Fulmer ok feel sorry for him but I think he'll get another job or do TV work. As for UT, hey if they lose recruits because of it good because that Florida can still dominate them however it also depends who UT hires because new coach can also bring in good recruiters so don't count them out yet.

i think UT would be fools not to push HARD for Muschamp.
i think his experience in the SEC as well as the success in Texas will drive recruits into UT not only from SEC states but steal some away from the BIG12 states. he will sure up the D. the only thing missing would be a proven off. co.

Cutcliff would be a very wise choice too, but since he started at duke i cant imagine him leaving a program that will truly be his own.
