possibility of muschamp being fired?

So does anyone think muschamp will be fired this year? Personally I don't think we will ever be back on top with muschamp as our head guy, but wanted to see what everyone else thinks about the situation?

If we lose to UGAly, USCe and F$U there is a strong chance, but who would replace him? Be careful what you ask for.

I just don't know anymore. For myself, I'd just like to see us begin planning, changing and working on making things "right" for NEXT season--but it may well be that Muschamp himself understands that he's got to show enough with what he's got left right now, despite all the injuries etc. that give he and his staff ready-made excuses, to win at least a couple of those. At the very least, they may have to show they are fielding a team that is "ready to play" each week, that puts up a fight for 4 quartrs and a better showing on offense as the year goes on than they have so far. If they don't, I think it'll cost SOMEONE their job--and if Muschamp doesn't pull-the-trigger on Pease with an eye towards some hope (and a PLAN) to upgrade the whole offense FAST, then it may be HIM who is gone as well. Wouldn't have figured that even a month ago, especially with injuries at least a possible "out", but this offense has been SO bad, the penalties and breakdowns continuing to be so much a factor as well, that things could get dicey for Chomp if he is seen as both partially responsible AND, more importantly, stubborn in his refusal to make "necessary" changes.

He is nowhere near the hot seat. He only lost two games last year, and he has a built-in excuse for losing five this year (injuries to the #1 starter from each unit).

The "Ron Zook" standard is that you get two seasons of back-to-back five-loss seasons before getting fired.

I understand what your saying but I have always been that we play for Natl championships or at least contend for them , but like I said earlier I don't ever see it with him at the helm

Granted it could always be worse but you have to take chances to succeed.

I think Muschamp is feeling the stress, but only that of which other staffers should be feeling, ie offense. To Muschamps defense, Driskle coming out of highschool looked like a for sure winning QB that would ignite our offense back to the Tebow era. With that being said, no other "highly recruited" QB coming out of HS wants to sit in anothers shadow, they want to play.
So we took a chance on Driskle and it didn't turn out the way it looked on paper. Other than that, our Defense is continuously the top in the nation and once we get our recruiting in the fill the offense, we will make a run. We were a game away from playing in the SECCG last year. This year we lost way too many people, and we are surprisingly still able to tread water.

We have the best recruiting core in the nation, I seriously see Muschamp and Florida winning 2 National Titles in the next 5 years. I think if our Offense keeps looking the way it does, then Muschamp will fire Brent Pease and find something else.

Look, I know what y'all are saying--but NO ONE is "unfireable"...there has to be an effort being made by the team ON the field, and an effort to improve the clear week spots in that team's approach and philosophy behind it, when a squad is failing as obviously and spectacularly as this offense is.

No they are not, but given a 11-2 record last year. Beating 5 ranked teams including the state rivalry and honestly a fumble away from possibly playing in the SECCG. I think right now, this year, Muschamp is unfireable.

He has put our defense at the top of the pinnacle, which in the SEC will carry you very far. The other half was the #1 QB coming out of HS, with the potential to put us back in the tebow era. Nobody knew he would perform the way he did.

I think we need to take a look at the Offensive side of the staff. O-line is having issues, WR's don't have the confidence, RB's having issues with ball control and vision, and our QB's seem undeveloped. Other than that, we have so much talent on both sides and at depth. There is no reason we have a flat Offense. It's one thing to build a plan on "score points, let defense play", but our Offense should be able to score at will, and we don't have that.

Ultimately Muschamp is head coach so he takes responsibility overall, but we all know Muschamp has made the Defense his baby. Yea he puts his input in the Offense, and coaches on technique etc. But he puts his trust in the OC to do what they think is best. Which isn't working. We look like Boise State joined the SEC, except we actually have a top ranked defense.

@NaffGutts,
You're right, of course--and I agree about both his strength manifest on defense (AND the overall change-for-the--better in the toughness and fairness on this team), and that he IS probably still as near to "unfireable" at this point as he can (or SHOULD) be--and frankly, I am still pretty certain that that is "good and right". I am angry and frustrated, but I have been a strong Muschamp supporter and think he STILL has us in position to be a dominant Champion very soon (our climb later seen as "delayed for a year by injury"), if only he CAN get the right guy in at OC soon, THIS year, so that most of the "bumps" and practical complications of that change are done by the end of THIS one, and we are "up to speed" in our new momentum on offense parallel with the return and new additions come spring on defense as well.
Imagine what this defense COULD be--and what it WILL be NEXT season...Meanwhile, though, the state of the offense is so poor that to build towards an offense that is even an "adequate", holds-up-its-side-of-the-deal side of things in a Championship run NEXT year I believe (as I keep yammering about) requires that process and effort begin NOW--which is why, as Head Coach, Muschamp MUST be considering right now the pros and cons, pluses and minuses of what still might be accomplished by this year's team (and thus whether holding onto Pease for continuity's sake is preferable for now, long as that "tie for the lead in the SEC-East is still on-the-table, at least), versus both the emotional AND practical considerations on getting started on NEXT season's "run" as soon as that slips away--which could well be today. With the further weakening of the team by injury, now to our D-line, with Powell and Jacobs gone against a run-game that sets up their even-stronger passing game, means the overall strength of the squad that is EVERYTHING in any chance at winning is now at a teetering, brittle-in-its-vulnerability state: We are PRIMED to get overwhelmed, perhaps even embarrassed, against a Mizzou team that is flying high, with its fandom sending them ever higher...If that happens, I think we could (and of course I believe SHOULD) see a change at OC soon after--especially if our "braintrust", led by Muschamp, has indeed already been "browsing" for Pease's successor. This could be a a day every bit as frustrating and much more "embarrassing" if this D were to crack, finally, overwhelmed by a "threshold" being crossed in # and QUALITY of injuries, and things were to get out-of-hand--but in a weird way, I think these "remaining goals" are mainly unrealistic distractions by now, the sooner they are dispensed with the sooner our coaches can, HAVE to turn their attention to the future, and can do the things they need to do to begin that process without being seen as "throwing in the towel on the season too early".
Now, I am INCAPABLE of course to do anything but root for my Gators, but well, you get the idea here...I wanna win, but anything less than something dominant on our part could sort of work against us, long term.
Ugh...Blown coverage/defense on the 1st play from scrimmage , long pass complete by Mizzou--and the Gator defender is called for "Targeting", and Cody Riggs gets DISQUALIFIED! On the first play! Now they throw for a TD on the 2nd! No one has done that to us in over a season and a half...See what I mean? 22 seconds and we are down a TD AND anopther defender--our "fast guy" who was supposed to be "stepping up" nicely to fill in for the losses we already had. He'll be out NEXT week too, with that disqualification, I think.
Oh oh, guys. Get ready to do something ELSE with your morning/early afternoon. I knew something like what may be 'bout to happen COULD happen, but DAMN! Murphy doesn't look like he's moving right, either...
