Randy Shannon won’t let Robert Marve transfer to UF

I don't think he should go to UF myself. I hate to insult a Tampa native (I'm from the Bay Area) but this guy is a jerk and I don't think Meyer wants to deal with him.

Plus the fact that all he'd probably do is be a back-up when he's here.

Agreed we don't really need Marve here when we have Tebow (fingers crossed), Brantley and incoming QB recruits, but Shannon's restricting where Marve can transfer to is going overboard IMHO.

If Steve Spurrier wanted to be really anal about Brock Berlin transferring out back at the end of the 2001 season he could have made the same stipluations when his scholarship release was made, but he didn't do that and Berlin went to Miami from UF.

I can see Shannon's point about Marve's going to another ACC school because of competition, but out of conference and in-state restrictions are a bit ridiculous.

I do believe he is not aloud to go to any SEC school so ole Steve can't look at him

i thought the restriction was no transferig to any other ACC team or in-state team. why would shannon stop him from going to an SEC team??? sounds like he wants to be a real a$$. oh well for all the players considering UM, they can see what happens if something goes wrong, where as UF let Berlin go to UM.

Marve will not only be forbidden from transferring in-state, but cannot play anywhere in the ACC or SEC, either. Why? Because Miami said so.

According to ESPN News this morning, scUM gave Cincinnati permission to speak to Marve about a transfer - they're a Big East school, so Shannon shouldn't get his panties in a wad.
