Siler and Smith to return?? It's still a possibility.

From what I understand, Brandon Siler and Ryan Smith have not signed with an agent yet. They have until today to still withdraw their name from the draft if in fact they don't have an agent yet. I've heard some rumors that Siler may be considering it and some speculation that Smith may be as well. These are just rumors as of this point and there is still a strong possibility that they both leave their names in for the draft. However, it is still possible that 1 or maybe even both of them will be playing on the Gator D next year.

I wonder what factors in to their decision to come back to school for another year? Is it strictly their projected draft spots?

I really can't see Smith coming back for another year. He won't be able to top his performance from this past season. In his case, it's best to go out and get the millions while he can.

I agree. Siler is the only one I think could really benefit from another year. However, I still wouldn't blame him for going. I've heard 4pm is the deadline to withdraw, but I don't know how quick we would hear if he did. I'm thinking it's pretty likely he is going to stay in the draft though.

Siler looks to be following the footsteps of former linebacker Channing Crowder. Crowder was taken in the 3rd round by the Miami Dolphins, and was almost immediately put into the starting lineup. He's been a great addition to the Dolphins.

Siler probably sees that he can get drafted no worse than Crowder...and might be able to play a role on a team with linebacker needs.

Looks like it's official that Nelson, Moss, Siler, and Smith will all be staying in the draft. I would have obviously loved for any of them to come back as that would really add some strength to our defense, but I wish them nothing but the best with their NFL careers.
