Tebow’s snub adds BCS motivation

He didn't get 'snubbed'
YES I wanted him to win, he is a class act, was the best football player up on the stage that night & is right next to Herschel Walker as the greatest college football player ever.
That being said Bradford deserved the award. He had better numbers & when comparing QBs he was the clear winner.
Yes, Teow carried UF on his back vs Bama, hes a tuff dude & a great leader but those things dont matter much when your looing at stats, the loss to Ole Miss did not help Tebow much.
If anyone got snubbed it was Graham Harrell. He deserved to be there among those guys

I agree. Tebow was not snubbed. The best Heisman candidate won. Timmy did such a good job last year that he set the bar rather high for himself to repeat. By the way, Bradford is only getting better each year. Tebow once again set the example on how to be a good 'winner' and a good 'loser'. The good news is that should be the last thing Tebow loses this season.

The motivation for the BCS championship should be that OU is a damn good team and we need to work hard to beat them, not that Bradford won the Heisman over Tebow.

Yes, he did get snubbed.

The voters got it wrong this year. Many of Bradford's votes were from media dislike of Tebow, Southwest voters intentionally leaving Tebow off the ballot so he wouldn't win, and previous Heisman winners not wanting Tebow to join Archie Griffin.

The Heisman is ridiculously inconsistent when it comes to what the determining factors are. Very often, the "most outstanding" player does not end up with the trophy.

lol Rex Grossman.... got screwed over worse then Tebow though. The voters should only vote for the people that are invited... c'mon Crabtree, Iowa Rb and Javon Ringer had votes, the system is messed up.

Since the Heisman does not have strict award criteria, it would be hard to say that Tebow was snubbed. He was not the best passer. I am not sure that he was the best rushing quarterback. Colt McCoy had better combined rushing and passing stats. How do you define "leadership stats"? Since it is so subjective, it would be hard to say Tebow was snubbed. Sure, I wanted him to win. Then again, I wanted him to put up better passing numbers so that I could argue in his defense to my Tebow hater friends. I wanted him to not fumble against Ole Miss, but it happened. In Bradford's loss, he still had a good game statistically. Tebow did not have good numbers in his loss if you throw in fumbles and getting stuffed at the goal line. I love Tebow to death, but it is hard to take away from Bradford's Heisman qualifications and say Tebow was snubbed.

Be proud of what Tebow has accomplish for Florida and as an individual on and off the field. The kid is a very good ambassador for Florida and Collegiate sports.

With that said, he did not get snubbed. He set a very high bar for him to do a repeat of last year.

Be glad that you have a leader such as Tebow. But please realize that other players around the country exist and are just as deserving.

Now then...whoever said something about the media bias against Tebow...you obviously are not watching or reading what the media says about Tebow.

As we speak, the media is all over Florida and Tebow's jock.

It is very hard to give the award to Tebow when two of the 3 finalists have performed better (stat wise) than Tebow has.

If Bradford has an average gamea against Florida, he will rewrite teh NCAA record books for Pass Eff. for a season. Not only that, but he has more yards and TDs passing than Tebow has combined rushing and passing.

No offense to anyone here, but the player that got snubbed out of a chance to win the heisman is Graham Harrell. Tebow should be lucky that he was a finalist this year.

Awesomeness
Tebow didn't get snubbed by not winning the Heisman. I do think the voters in the Southwest that completely left Tebow off the ballot should never be allowed to vote again. However, if anyone has a case about being snubbed, I think it's McCoy.

Yes, the media has given people a big reason to dislike Tebow. The media has hyped him so much that people are sick of hearing it, and are taking it out on Tebow by not voting for him so they don't have to hear it anymore.

Since you and the rest of OU fans seem to think that it's all about stats, then why didn't Grossman win in 2001 with vastly superior stats? I'll tell you why, because he was a sophomore, and because Crouch played for good old Nebraska and Grossman played for UF. Why do you think we heard NOTHING at all about Bradford being a sophomore? You probably think it's some kind of a conspiracy theory, but there are definitely reasons to think that the national media as a whole likes the SEC the least.

I cannot tell you why Grossman did not win it in 2001. I thought then and continue to think that Crouch, though a good QB for Nebraska, should not have won the 2001 Heisman.

Stop using being a Sophomore as an excuse. Tebow was the first Sophomore to win it last year. And you really need to get out of the Southeast if you honestly think the national media dislikes the SEC. All we hear about is how Godlike the SEC is from the national media, like Fox Sports, ESPN, CBS, and ABC.

One last thing, stop acting as if we Sooner fans think Eric Crouch deserved the Heisman. Because this only shows your ignorance on the matter.

Plenty of players in the past have gotten snubbed when talking about the Heisman. Players like Adrian Peterson, Joe Washington, Rex Grossman, Josh Heupel, Darren McFadden, Vince Young, Larry Johnson, Peyton Manning, and I am sure some others can be mentioned.

You Gators are sure a sour bunch when it coems to losing, aren't you?

I'm not implying that Sooner fans think Crouch should have won. All I'm saying is that the Heisman doesn't always go to the player with the best stats, and I used Crouch as an example.

I'm not using the sophomore argument as an excuse. I just find it surprising that some people couldn't vote for Tebow last year because he was a sophomore, but yet turn around and vote for Bradford this year with no qualms whatsoever.

I agree with you that CBS is without a doubt pro-SEC.

I personally feel like ESPN mainly likes Tim Tebow, not necessarily the SEC as a whole. I don't watch ABC much, and maybe now they like the SEC, but I find that hard to believe. I hate watching ABC games, because of their Big 10 love. I can't stand watching Nessler and his crew, Blackledge and Patrick on ESPN, or Musberger/Herbstreit.

i cannot agree more, rex was snubbed badly,he so deserved the heisman ,but this year i though colt deserved it over bradford.hopefully tim will stay and win it next year with hopefully back to back natl championships.

this website already had 2009 rankings lol... Florida was 1 and Bama was 2 or maybe Texas was 2... but still we have almost all Defensive starters and all backups 2. And tons of redshirted players at WR will see the field.. I hope Tebow comes back!
