Tebow vs. Wuerffel

I don't want to compare stats. I want to compare their presence on campus and in the media. I didn't follow Gator sports that much back when Danny was the QB and the big man on campus. How did his fame and hype compare to that of Tebow?

First let me state the obvious I don't know or have never met either of them. I do think Wuerffel is one the top College Football players ever, but I move on......

I think off the field they are very similar. God 1st, self last & not "I guys" they play/played for the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back.

One huge, HUGE diffrence was Spurrier. He was the BMOC, Tebow does not have that HUGE shadow.

Wuerffel had a lot of other big time players on the team with him, Reidel Anthony, Jacquez Green, Ike Hilliard, Fred Taylor, Travis McGriff, Erron Kinney, Jevon Kearse, Donnie Young, Jeff Mitchell, Fred Weary & Anthone Lott. True the Gators have talent today, but not quite like '96 so Tebow is definetly the man on the team now.

I think Wuerffel is by far a better QB but Tebow is a much better athlete

Anthony, Hilliard, and Green were all drafted in the first two rounds. Harvin and Ingram maybe. I doubt Murphy and Cooper will be. I don't know about Caldwell what are the experts porjection for him? If you were quarterback which receivers would you pick Tebow's or Wuerffel's? I pick Wuerffel's. Saying that, I given a slight edge to Tebow. Depends who's playbook we're using Spurrier's or Meyer's.

Caldwell will be a late 2nd rounder I think.

Personally, I don't think Danny's hype outside of Florida is anywhere near that of Tebow's. Tebow is a phenomenon. People love him and hate him. I don't think people really hated Danny.
