The latest on the FSU academic scandal

As many of us know the School Out West was presented a Notice of Allegations by the NCAA in light of the cheating scandal which surfaced a year ago this month. Apparently an attorney for one of the parties in the forfront of the scandal is saying that his client is being made a scapegoat: http://www.tampabay.com/sports/colleges/article828999.ece

The hearing is scheduled for October 18; I'll be anxious to see if the NCAA slaps them with further sanctions which IMHO they deserve.

FSU deserves everything they get. They looked the other way while their athletes were cheating. It's a bad academic situation, and wouldn't be surprised if things get worse.

In all fairness, I hope they get the death penalty after all they've been allowed to get away with for way too long. Nole fans and others who don't know any better can think that ol'Booby's a "saint", but that's far from the truth.

It serves them right if their football program is severely punished by the NCAA, since FSU needed UF's 1980s probation to become good.

As far as if the punishment is tough, I won't believe it until I see it, because they've gotten away with so much for so long.

OK, here's the latest on the NCAA inquiry into the School Out West.

Apparently Brenda Monk, who's at the forefront of all this, is suing the Clown College for defamation: http://www.tampabay.com/sports/colleges/article880837.ece

And on the tail end of all this, the NCAA is planning to come down harder on cheaters. As a fly-on-the-wall observation, many nole fans around cyberspace think the SOW's out of the woods, but who's to know until the NCAA issues the final verdict. I really hope they'll do the right thing and impose sanctions on them which they deserve.

This is all just too funny! I was reading the first article about the suit and could not help laughing aloud at this............

She is now a principal at the school at the Lake City Correctional Facility.

................... I wonder if they hired her because of her previous experience w/ criminoles!
