Does it make anyone sick besides me to watch auburn and see how good cam newton is doing, and think what could have been if he was still at florida.

Cam is an athlete but he's not smart at all. The coaches were extremely frustrated with his inability to learn the playbook here at UF. But since we only have four or five plays that we run now, I think we could really use him. Overall it's way too soon to judge the guy though. So far his only marquee win is a close one over Clemson.

I would take Brantley over JaMarcus Russell, er, I mean, Cam Newton on any day. Cam will look good in the first couple weeks of play, but I have confidence that Brantley prove out to be a better investment than Newton in the long run.

I have no doubt that Brantley will settle down and become the QB we've all been expecting. I think the biggest hold up right now is getting the O Line situated.

Bama's worried. Worried about what they're going to do with the extra time they have on film day since it only takes five minutes of film to analyze our offense.

Yeah, even putting aside the whole character-issue, I'm not at all interested in second guessing that whole sad sequence of events...and personally, I can't imagine any bigger fiasco--in terms of public perception OR team chemistry--than the idea of the current Gator offense being run just like last year's by some kind of "Anti-Tebow". In terms of style minus the skills, the brains, the leadership and the WILL of #15, that's what Newton would have brought, IMO.
Look, it's early in young JB's career as the starting QB; we know he has the skills, and I don't have to list all the other on-field distractions and extenuating circumstances that have littered his path to excellence thus far. There's a LOT for this Offense and it's various individual components to improve in order for them to reach acceptability, let alone dominance.
One thing I WOULD like to see, sooner rather than later, are more attempts downfield to the WR's. Supposed to be one of his strengths, and an essential part of the overall game-planning with this version of the spread (ie. with a drop back passer. Other team needs to see that, and worry about it.

i havent seen a qb yet better than tebow running wise in college... there are faster ones but not bulldozers like Tebow, and tebow had some speed on him to

Let's not forget that Vince Young was a good balance of a bruiser and a slick runner, more slickness than strength, but worthy of mentioning with the likes of Tim Tebow.

If Cam Newton was still at Florida, I think he would see some action, but I don't believe that he would be our starting QB.
