They wouldn't even BE in this position to score if it weren't for late penalties and mistakes...but they do finally score.
And they kick away, let Billy and Co. run out the clock. Content to break the SHUTOUT AND score the 2-pointer, they seem actually OK with that.
Meanwhile, WE have our win, no apparent serious injuries, and (while the score LOOKS "Respectable") there are clearly holes to fill, specific details DJ can and hopefully WILL learn from, and more than ever, FURTHER evidence of a number of areas BILLY HIMSELF could stand some improvement in!
The question remains: "WILL HE LEARN?"
CAN HE "LEARN", allow himself to face and ADDRESS the plethora of remaining problems so obviously displayed again today?
His play-calling inside the redzone, for example?Or the CONTINUED problems with getting the right people ON THE FIELD (especially the special teams)??!
And so on.
We could be very good next year if we were to add an OC, ALONG WITH the various pending recruits and portal pick-ups--but a good deal of that promise may well be WASTED if our Coach stubbornly refuses to recognize his own shortcomings, continues to cling to a mistaken belief in his own infallibility.
