This is a game that a "better version of US" coulda/woulda/SHOULDA already taken at LEAST a 14 point lead in, but instead we are less than a touchdown ahead with little more than half a quarter left in the half.

Our D asserting itself now--but all the calls going their way. We have done some dumb stuff here, but these officials are otherwise really HELPING Tulane so far.
That "incomplete on 2nd down was actually a catch abd a fumble that was about to be recovered deep by us!

I LIKE seeing Bily getting "sakty" on the sidelines; whether with officials or his own coach or coaches (I think it was the last, this time), I think he needs to "crack the whip" a little MORE!

I do not believe it. NOT DJ's best day either...
But I didn't like the play: I was all for an RPO there. Will they give us a chance to UNDO ANOTHER MISTAKE? They are lining up on 4th and short inside their own 30.
Would LOVE a chance to get it back here, get that late-half TD after all.
We have WAY outgained them here, shoukd have thus game will in hand, but will need SOME late luck just to get ahead more than a score.

Well, this has gone off the rails here now.
Only a big play can save us.
But DJ will need TIME.
Just sloppiness late here.

This is starting to worry me. Unless something goes happens here late, we are in for a fight that we shouldn't have had to face in the 2nd half.

Frankly, I am disgusted:
This game is showing all our missing parts...
AND all the ways we must IMPROVE ELSEWHERE.
So: We left LOTS of points on the field so far in THIS one. (I doubt Billy throws a Hail Mary here)
So we lead--by less than a TD.
Disappointing. Beating ourselves.
They get the ball to start the 2nd half...
Our D MUST shut down what will no doubt be a scripted plan to immediately take the lead here.
We can NOT let that happen
And THEN, Billy's turn at a scripted drive to (finally) GET IT IN THE ENDZONE.
BOTH of the above happen, and we'll be fine here...but otherwise, well, LOOK OUT!

Imagine what the Gators could do with a REAL offensive coordinator. Gators dominate every statistic on offense except points scored—the one that matters.

Back to the same old frustrated pain-in-the-gut feeling at halftime! I was really hoping we coukd have a game that was an "upbeat celebration" of at least SOME of the things we have to look FORWARD to in 2025!
No such luck; We'll be lucky to pull out the win here and just MOVE ON. Hopefully prospective future Gators will see what they can get on the field and help IMPROVE...The receivers see DJ's POTENTIAL, if not on his best day HERE.
He still has another half to "show what he's got, finish some drives and MAYBE even hit a couple of those sweet touch BOMBS he has in his repertoire.

Yes. This has happened before, too.
Between the underuse of lopsided control of play, AND the return of "mismanagement of substitution of special teams" difficulties, that whole issue of needing a proper OC has reared its ugly head.

I am going to back off fir a bit, see where this all heads from here:
This is the crucial period coming up, right here.

Well...This is a game where we saw a lot of the highs AND lows of DJ being a freshman who is still learning important lessons.
(I think they are going to call this an incompletion...but no! They "confirm" it!).

Imagine how much better Lagway would be if he had a real QB coach and a real offensive coordinator.
