2021-2022 Bowl Projections

The team we see in the bowl game will look nothing like the team we see in September. Think of the bowl game as an audition for this team’s transfer portal destinations, or for the coaches, their next coaching gig.
Exactly. AND: It probably changes the KIND of game it will now turn out to be.
Certainly GATOR fans must look for a different look and plan from the Gator offense, no matter what—for a LOT of reasons so far only HINTED AT by these changes!

At risk of sounding like I am building in an excuse: UCF is playing to win with many players returning next year. The current Florida players and coaches are just auditioning for future teams. That difference in motivation means that I would not bet money on the Gators even if they are favored. Some of these Gators may return next year. I will try to project that in another post

Yeah...(with apologies to Dale, whom I know will BE THERE), at THIS point, with the “virtual line-up at the transfer portal” (hey, that strikes me as a kind of new title-trend right THERE!) and the attending seeming “mass-exodus-in-progress”, it is hard to foresee anything but ignominious defeat—the kind of loss that will inevitably be debatable as to its causes and deeper signals as to what it means to our future.
Me, I don’t know WHAT to expect: Certainly, a loss won’t SHOCK me now, shouldn’t “shock” ANY of us at this point.
But IS it “inevitable”?
With as little as I feel I actually “KNOW” about our team and program at this point, where we’re at and/or where we are HEADED, right here and NOW, how am I to weigh or judge what to expect heading INTO such a match-up?
As I think you are implying, E—, at least THIS time it would seem UCF has a lot more tangibles and INtangibles working FOR itself as we both approach it. That’s about the most I am able to manage in the way of “logical pregame analysis” here.
I HOPE I’m wrong! I have a feeling we’ll know pretty early on.

The Gators are still favored by 6.5 and the O/U is 52.5, with an expected score of 35-25 (take the over).

Hey Drew, I am not gonna make it. I just got back from traveling between Atlanta, Hunstville, and Port St. Luice. I have stayed in hotels for lik 103 nights this year and I need a break lol.

I hear you, Gator. I’m sorry you’ll miss it (we’ll have to at least watch and see HOW “sorry” you will actually end up BEING—lol), but I TOTALLY understand the priorities there:
It is only “worth it” to the degree that it DOESN’T interfere with downtime which might otherwise be spent with friends, family (or even SELF, as the case may be) come this time of year. Have a great season, regardless, man—and we’ll at least figure on all of us “touching base” come gametime for our Bowl, I guess (though how much interest, pleasure or excitement will be in the offing that day remains to be seen...)
Now that you have backed away from attending, I suppose I am a little more open about my trepidation in that regard...Then again, “Signing Day” certainly turned out better than we had any inkling or right to expect in the run up to it, boding MUCH BETTER for what’s ahead than I dared have had for us coming INTO it, based on all the negative news in preceding days and weeks. So who knows??!)
