Wouldn't surprise me. In my opinion, our starters are simply the practice squad from 2009. That explains our lack of execution.

On a day-to-day level, I think all we have left is our humor--trouble is, even the jokes ring true!

One thing worth noting:
The Head Coach has pretty well not only acknowledged "problems with the offense", with performance AND play-calling (I'm just lost at the idea that this seems like news to him), if I'm not mistaken he's taking a more "hands on" approach to running that offense. Now granted, it is difficult these days to really pin down WHAT Urban Meyer is telling us in his public utterances, but I'm not alone in this particular impression--plenty of hopeful, otherwise clear-thinking individuals are excitedly predicting a clear turn-around in production on offense. Naturally, I am hoping that this turns out to be the case. As recently as a few weeks back I would have been certain of it.
Now, I'm more self-protective: Love to see it happen, let's wait and see...
So many possibilities, all of them passing us by these last, long weeks.
No matter what, after this by-week and next game questions about "responsibility" should be largely answered. It really WILL be "Put up or shut up" time.

head coach has, right, but fatassio... no so much. he thinks everything is A-OK.. he thinks the o-line is doing a superb job, along with mike pouncey's snaps (he is getting better.. and he's guaranteed to not have a bad snap this week!)

let's just hope meyer's more hands on approach works... but i really don't feel too good about this offense. almost like the past few years of recruiting is going to waste..

Sigh. At risk of switching from positive to negative mode...

This really is THE week to put up or shut up, as DRU2012 put it. I predicted Alabama would lose. Everyone had us believe we would vent our anger onto LSU. We were THAT close to winning against LSU. Okay, accept the loss, get mad at the trick play, but I will blame 1st half execution--wake up in the 1st half and we would not have been in that situation. After that second loss, we said that MSU was THE week to get back on track. The Gators came out throwing, almost as if they read some of our complaints, but failed to execute. The Gators marched down the field at the end, but had they been awake in the 1st half we would not have needed to overcome that HUGE 7-10 deficit and put our punter into that situation of having to tie with field goals.

The stats and the execution make it easy for the coaches to not look at their own play calling as the culprit. We all know their heads are in the sand, but their data does not show that. I read that Urban Meyer will be more hands-on, but only in critical plays. Well, guys, the critical plays happen to be in the 1st and 4th quarter for us. 3rd and 4th quarters are our best statistically, but all our mistakes are in 1st and 4th. Mistakes in the 1st quarter because we still are asleep and mistakes in the 4th because we are down by a score and we are playing catch-up.

Since the coaching will not change, more freshmen will not be swapped in, and the plays will only be tweaked not changed, it is contingent upon the players themselves to execute better in 1st and 4th quarters. Blaming Addazio is getting us nowhere. Now the players need to read our comments and take them to heart. In this bye week:
- Pouncey needs to practice snapping footballs in his dorm room
- The entire O-line needs to get more practice pushing big objects and big people around
- The entire O-line needs to take some dancing lessons so they can switch between pushing forward and pushing while moving backwards
- Brantley needs to tie Deonte Thompson to a pole 15 yards away and throw footballs at his face
- Brantley needs to read the other parts of that playbook and practice with the WRs and TEs. When he is in formation not at QB, he is a wasted number if he is not catching, blocking, or running. Then again, he is a wasted number if he is running an option play period. Can't change that in one game.
- Our RB corps needs to get healthy. Overnight. Go see a witch doctor.

I KNOW, man...but I'm TRYING to be as even-handed as possible here--even as I qualify everything I say with that "but let's wait and see" approach.
Truth is, I'm as doubtful as you are; but I want everyone to realize, even the most rah-rah optimistic, that there comes a point where Addazio or no, the Head Coach HAS to shoulder the bulk of the responsibility for this kind of across-the-board failure.
By Urban Meyer's own recent statements, then, results ON THE FIELD from this point forward represent his work, his choices, his scheme, his TEAM out there.
Whatever rationalizations anyone has told themselves or others, whether coach or fan, are irrelevant from now on. That's what I meant by "Put up or shut up time".

I feel like that guy who keeps saying, "I DARE you to cross that line!"
..."OK, this time I really mean it, not ONE step closer..."
and so on, ad infinitum.
Is it so surprising that we continue to be treated with contempt by the coaching staff, our questions and concerns essentially "blown off" by them in both their public statements and the obvious disconnect between what they tell us and what they actually DO, as it unfolds during games?
"Aww, I tell ya folks we've been BAMBOOZLED!"

I am running out of the sarcasm and wit that I need to handle my frustrations. I get by rooting for the freshmen. They are our hope. If last year was our greatest senior class, this has to be the worst in 20 years. I will bet that next year will look a lot better when the prima Donna underperformers leave or get replaced.

Yeah, assuming--well, assuming a lot of things I was going to list here but we have covered elsewhere repeatedly. Whatever form the coaching staff takes, whoever is in charge of what, they will have to give the young guys, ANY young guy who has skill and nerve and drive to offer this team the chance to show it ON THE FIELD, if they hope to give that team the opportunity to bounce back onto the road to greatness that not so long ago was Gator Highway.

If we have any hope of salvaging the season, a win over UGA is a must. If we can win, all we have to do is beat Vanderbilt and then beat USC at home and we probably finish with 7-8 wins.

If we lose and drop to 4-4, then there's a very real possibility we don't even reach 6 wins, we finish with a losing record, and we don't even go to a bowl game.
