Does not look like Newton's problems are going away.

Auburn's Newton reportedly cheated at Florida - College football- NBC Sports
There's a whole bunch of discussion on a number of national forums and in the comments to a number of articles in the national media, to the effect that some people at U F may well be mounting a concerted smear campaign against Newton and Auburn. And frankly, given that: (1) the Mississippi State issue was reported in the media very soon after Urban Meyer (privately) found out about it: (2) the reporter who broke the "cheating" story is believed to be close to Meyer; and (3) such information is protected from release by federal privacy laws, a whole bunch of people are finding that idea to be entirely credible.
These reports may damage Newton's Heisman chances and give Auburn a bit of a black eye, but quite seriously, the University of Florida is also losing friends and admirers over this stuff, big time.
Here's something that cracked me up:
Attempted character assassination of Cam Newton continues | al.com
In one paragraph Scarbinsky assassinates the character of Urban Meyer by saying he forgives indiscretions too easily and gives too many second chances in his dirty program. In another paragraph he will talk about how folks need to stop assassinating the character of Cam and that the kid deserves a second chance and forgiveness for his past indiscretions. I love the double standard. Typical.
