Is Chris Rainey still confused from the concussion he sustained Saturday against South Florida? This morning at 3:17 AM, Rainey was hauled off to Alachua County jail - a place all too familiar to Gator players - for aggravated stalking, a third-degree felony. Rainey allegedly sent a threatening text message to a woman he has dated in the past - the message read "Time to die." Yikes!
Apparently Rainey had been at the girls house and they weren't getting along, so the girl's sister called the police. Rainey left and went back to his apartment where he sent the text message and was later woken up by the police.
The woman said that she didn't want to file any charges against Chris and that the media is just blowing the whole thing out of proportion. Rainey was released from jail this morning after visited with a judge and won't have any charges filed against him. I don't know what Urban Meyer is going to do about this situation. Rainey is clearly a dumbass, but that hasn't stopped any football player from taking the field in the past.
