This one's at home now courtesy of LSU's somewhat ingracious refusal to budge when we were hurricane-hamstrung LAST year, you'll recall. We muttered darkly that this would bite 'em in the butt when it came around a year hence--and quietly HOPED we'd make that stick.
Well, here's our chance, a very REAL one, turns out: We are getting these Tigers when they are reeling, having potentially their worst season in a long time--and right on the edge of being dealt a knock-out punch delivered RIGHT HERE AND NOW: By our Gators, on Homecoming, no less.
We all know our problems, heightened by losing MORE players to injury this week. But we can beat this team. It will require our best and most complete full game effort start to finish, make no mistake, but played that way we CAN bury them, I think.
I'm NOT going into my usual fears and/or deep analysis in advance of the game itself this time. By now we all KNOW our pluses and minuses, and where I'm likely to stand on all of 'em. No, I'm just gonna let this turning-point in BOTH teams' season HAPPEN, try to be positive, say "EAT 'EM UP, GATORS!" and let it ride.
(One more thing though, btw:
Unfortunately, this and next weekend are when the Austin City Limits Fest is happening, it's a big deal in general in my town AND for me personally in what I do--meaning once AGAIN this season I'll be "somewhat distracted" on gameday...In fact, as has already happened a couple of times this season, I'm likely to be WORKING DURING GAME. I'll be "monitoring" during the game, will try to kick in with comments and reaction if/when I can--and you can BET I'll have things to say first chances I get later--but I must apologize for what is turning out to be a pattern of somewhat forced-absences during games here this season. Again, I'm sorry--but I know there are at least a few of y'all who, like me, like to vent here, and I'm figuring (counting) on YOU guys to jump in regardless, carry things just by being around to comment on the action, good or bad. Keep throwing it out there, brothers.)
I'll "jump in" myself as soon and as often as I can, and we'll talk in detail later.
Thanks, and of course, "GO GATORS!!!"
