Eventis sultorum magister.
He was injured on April 3 in a team scrimmage when he was hit. The hit left him on the ground as he experienced numbness in his fingers. He underwent an MRI and consultation with outside specialists and team physicians led to the decision for Johnson to retire from the sport. Cervical stenosis is a condition that is a narrowing of the spinal canal that prevents enough fluid to gather around the spinal cord to properly protect it from injury.
I had surgery for spinal stenosis last year and they did a Laminectomy to remove L3, L4 and L5. That is what he is facing in the later years. Easy surgery with the proper neurosurgeon, but scary if you are on the receiving end and you are VERY careful with your back with the missing vertebra. My numbness was in the legs. I feel for him, but there is life after football.
