If the SEC loses Arkansas

Mr2Bits

If the Big Ten is successful in expanding to 14 or 16 teams, they will likely take one or two Big 12 schools. The Big 12 in turn could take Arkansas from the SEC.

Who would you like to see the SEC add if they lose Arkansas?

- Clemson
- Louisville
- Virginia Tech
- Florida State

Clemson and FSU. FSU gets a freebie by being in the weak ACC, just as they had it "easy" as independents before 1992. Let's see them repeat the Bowden dynasty of the 90s with Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama pounding on them. Va Tech would not be a bad choice.

FSU for sure, if only to make the rivalry even more intense. I know that no Gator fan needs an excuse to hate the Noles, but seriously.... adding them to the SEC would make it almost cause for bloodshed.

Sucks to be you. Just kidding. As long as it is not Miami, I am okay with it. I almost went to FSU, but I got my grades up and Florida took me. This is why you should study hard, kids. If you don't make good grades you might wind up at FSU. At least that is what I threaten my kids with. Now look at me, I have one 'Nole and five Longhorns working for me in my engineering division. Go Gators! (Unfortunately I work for three Aggies and an Air Force Academy grad.)

No way FSU leaves a cushy ACC to for a powerhouse like the SEC. They'll be looking at 5th place- tops - every single year.

I have heard that the SEC will watch the other conferences expand and stick with its current size. This is not a bad idea. No matter how large the Big 10 grows and how much the Big 12 shrinks, each team in the conference will still need to beat the other team on the field. I think the SEC does well because over time it has a good mix of friendly rivalries, not-so-friendly rivalries, powderpuff teams, and shocker teams. The Pac-10 floundered a bit because over time it really only had a couple strong teams. The Big 10 lives in the past and hangs its hat on past glory. I thought the Big 12 was doing well and I do not see why they need to change anything other than their conference championship format.

P.S. I was joking on the GPA jokes on FSU. FSU and UF are both reputable schools with similar, if not identical, entrance requirements since both are in the State University System. Where the two schools diverge is in research, where UF far outpaces FSU in biotech, engineering, and medical.

Out of the choices given, I would want to see Clemson or VT.

My solution to expansion: each conference gets 12 teams, so they can have a conference championship game. Big 10 currently has 11. They pick up ND who gives up their dream of being independent. Pac-10 picks up two from either the MWC or WAC. Big east steals from C-USA or any other non BCS conferences.

Miami would be a terrible fit. They're not in the Deep South and the stadium doesn't sell out unless they're winning.

They would sell out when UF & FSU came in.
Im not saying its going to happen, but it should. See who 'owns' FLA

I don't even think they sell out for FSU now. The only times they sell out are when they're playing UF or when they have bandwagon fans come to the games.

Clemson, GT, and even FSU are all better fits in the SEC than Miami.
